Got to meet Barry at the 2000 Finals. He was friendly and gracious even to a teenager from Texas. I still have the game program he signed and will never forget his parting advice, 'Never miss an opportunity to hit somebody, that's what makes hockey great'.
Bucci and Barry Melrose got me into hockey. I’ll never forget watching them back when SportsCenter was actually must see tv when we didn’t have smartphones for scores and updates. Thinking about you man. Stay strong

Growing up in Buffalo New York I love hockey besides my family and Friends Rick jeanneret and Barry Melrose sometimes I dislike Barry Melrose take on my favorite team for my favorite player by respected his take you always you will be in my prayers Barry
Scott Van Pelt has at times had an up and down broadcasting career. He's sometimes gotten in his own way but as time has gone on, he's matured into one of the best. He's one of the best writers in sports, a truly deep and compassionate man with a heart as big as his 6'6" frame. A fitting tribute to one of the best ambassadors not only of hockey, but of sports in general, Barry Melrose.
Steve Levy is definitely a hockey fan first and it shows now that ESPN has hockey again. He might have done MNF for a long while, but his heart was always with hockey.
I'm 30 and still I remember being 12 seeing Ochocinco, Gilbert Arenas and Barry Melrose every night on Sportcenter! Seems like those times are forgotten. Respect to Barry.
