This is the ONLY loc journey I have watched all the way through! I didn’t skip, I didn’t feel like she way rambling. I was genuinely interested. I really enjoyed this!!
It’s about freedom for me to. Freedom from detangling. Freedom from moisture reverting my silk presses, freedom from shower caps LOL freedom to work out, to go on vacation, to get caught in the rain/snow/humidity, and my hair will keep its formmm. Freedom from constant styling and manipulation and freedom from mechanical breakage. I’m so excited for my loc journey 😭 I’m always trying to force my hair into a form it doesn’t want to be in. In 2023 I said enough is enough lol thinking about all of the extra time I’ll have bc I am not worrying about or styling my hair is bringing tears to my eyes LOL my hair has taken a lot of time, opportunities, and experiences from me. Not anymore!!
Yes, it’s a new found freedom for me! My husband and I love to travel and packing up my bathroom sink or paying $200-300 at the braid salon wasn’t it for me!! I do miss my natural curls but this is FREEDOM!! So I will stick with the process! Only 3 months in the process and I did the insta-loc technique. I go to a loc-technician because I knew I won’t be able to start it. So I am so far happy with my decision, but I will admit some days I am like what is going on here? The awkward phase has me in a headlock lol😅
I’m at the beginning with way shorter hair and coils, but I’m embracing this journey and excited for when my hair matures so I can hop in the pool no worries 🤣!!
I will be starting my loc journey in 5 days! I'm so excited! I let my 11 yr old son loc his hair 3 months ago. He's excited that we will be on this journey together. Your locs are gorgeous!!
Your locs are beautiful!! My loc journey began March 23rd. OMG! 2 months already! I started with the coil and didn't feel it either until I looked myself in the mirror and saw my inner beauty!!! I'm enjoying my new journey! Last week, I got my hair retwisted for our grandson's graduation and it stormed. I have to say, once it dried, my hair looked amazing. I'm now trusting the process!! 😊
i dont have locs but i am a mini twist, flexirod twist and knotless girlie and videos like this make me thankful i chose "freedom" over hair (my real hair is also the best its every been my entire life now that i basically leave it alone exclusively). i also enjoy doing my hair, my "twist days" where I install my twists or take them down are my favorite times of the year. CHOOSE FREEDOM ladies!
beautiful 😍 that high ponytail at 6:36 is everything!! i’m so glad you mentioned you thinking locs would make you look less feminine but you’ve felt more feminine than you ever been!! ❤ i know someone that has these same thoughts and i’m always encouraging them just to try it out and see how you feel, it’s going to give you a whole new outlook on hair.
Girl!! U brought a tear to my eye. First of all you are absolutely gorgeous. I combed my locs out earlier this year and needed to let go of some bad energy. This just encouraged me to definitely start a new loc journey. It's been on my mind alot but when you talked about how locs stand strong in all of those wheather conditions and how free you felt..It hit me. Like wow I did feel free. Thank you for sharing this. What a beautiful journey.
Your locs are stunning! I'm six months in and learning so many things about myself and my hair during this journey. Looking forward to when I can put them in a high bun!!
Aww! I love the overall positivity of this video ✨❤️❤️! And you are so right! You look AMAZING and so do your locs 😍! Great video 🤗! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏿!
As a fellow loc’d & loaded girlie😉👍🏾…. Sis, you’re beautiful 🥰 and your Locs are so gorgeous 😍😍❤. Thank you for sharing your journey‼️ I have Sisterlocks and absolutely love traditional Locs. I’m someone who appreciates ALL Loc styles and firmly believes that every natural hair texture is absolutely beautiful ❤. I'll be 3-yrs loc’d in Sept 2024🥳 Best decision ever‼️Like you, this is a lifetime commitment for me. I was a LAZY loose natural for 9-yrs before my Loc journey & miss absolutely nothing about that life. Now as a LAZY loc’d natural, there's nothing better than HAIR FREEDOM. Unfortunately for me, I'm too lazy to save money retying my own hair; I tried it once🥺😩🤦🏾♀️, & that was enough for me 😂 So at least for now I will fatefully pay $165 every 5-6 weeks to my loctician. 😊❤
Girl! It’s expensive maintenance but every so often I will gladly pay for the convenience because it’s so much work! Lol thanks for the love sister♥️♥️♥️
I am a new loc girlie. I started my journey with instant locs Nov.03,2024. I’ve had long hair all my life so I’m getting used to it being shorter than usual. But I’m excited for this journey.
I am thrilled to find your video cause we have the exact same curl pattern and i was looking to watch video about that specific hair type to kind of have an idea about it’ll turn out when they matured.🤗🤗 You were that person. I really enjoyed watching your video and listening to your comments . I am on day 2 of my journey and after being undecided for almost a year, I finally made the big step. It’s gonna be me in 3 years 😂😂😂😂I am so excited. Thank you so much you made my day 🤗
Everything you said hit me! Your reasons behind loving your hair now are some of the reasons why my soul has been craving such a change! As a fellow curly girl, I’m on the verge!!
this makes me so excited. i installed my own two strand twists with the intention of locs. i interlocked my roots and ive had my twists in for a lil over a week now. i am so loving it. i was a loose natural for almost 6yrs then wanted something different. it was either get locs or shave my head (i didn't wanna shave it) so i knew i loved the look of faux locs on me so after 4 different tries and several TH-cam tutorials i took a day to install my starter twists interlocs. it took me 14hrs and i am not sure how many locs i have, didnt count,
❤ I saw your picture of Pinterest before coming across your channel today. My first thought was “like lawd she’s beautiful” my second thought was “she looks like we could be sisters”. (Same eyes and hair color)
Looove this and thank you for sharing! You are absolutely rocking your locs and a whole vibe baybee!! I’m here for it! I’m 34 and have been natural for 17 years and all but 4 years of my life (13-17). Since I came to Atlanta almost 17 years ago for school, I have been in love with locs and mesmerized every time I see someone with them. I am that person that compliments strangers anyway, but I ESPECIALLY will stop people when I see them with locs! For yeeeeears I wanted them for myself, but went back and forth and back and forth again. But “somethin keeps pullin me back, me back” and I am fully ready to take the leap! I have a consultation on Tuesday with a local loctician and am super excited. I’m also going to be 35 in August and cannot wait to see what my hair will look like by then!
Wow, I was contemplating sisterlocs but feeling hesitant about the maintenance long term. I was thinking of traditional locs but wasn’t sure what route (braids, twists or instant locs). Your video has me thinking really hard about two strand twists for my starter locs. Loved your video! You are beautiful and so are your locs ❤. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I needed to see one of this vids with long hair. 😁 thank you i will be starting my loc journey soon and because of you i am even more excited about it. 🎉
I love love this! I am also three years in. I started later in life and wasn’t sure how I would like them, I will say I love them! What color do you have I. Your hair?
OMG I’m so happy I found you I have the same hair, same curl patterns! I just locked June 28th with the same two strand twist about 55-65 strands. I’m literally in the stage of idk😩😩😩😩😩 couple of my twists undo. An here looking at videos hoping to get some inspiration to keep going and think I found it!
Girl! So many times I looked at my locs like idk about this lol but once my roots started to loc and my locs gradually thickened, I was like ok ok this is kinda sexy 😂😂
I’m starting my loc journey now wit two strand twists as well and I’m so inspired by your video!! I’m so happy to see how beautiful and vibrant you look with your locs as well!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I loved this video and your are absolutely stunning. I’m son is starting his locs soon and I’m thinking about doing it as well. I have been thinking about it for years, but after watching this video, I think I made up my mind ❤
ughh i love this!! i just started my locs 2 weeks ago after combing them out due to thinning from hair dye but this time i went micro & this just reminded me to trust the process cause BABY! im not loving the look rn
I’m so happy I came across your channel!! You’re so gorgeous ! Thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve been going back n forth with loc ing my hair. If you don’t mind telling me, how many locs do you have? Yours are the perfect size to me
Wow what a beautiful journey! I am 2.5 years locd. I love the low maintenance as well. I never ask myself what to do with my hair anymore because honey it's done! Lol
Our mamas always know how to humble us 😂😂 my mama was the same way. But my hair was very, very short when I started and she was so used to me having long hair. I cut my hair bc it was relaxed. I’ll be 3 years locked May 13th and now she likes it….. kinda 😂😂

I'm glad I found this. Your journey is beautiful. I'm starting my journey soon. What size did you start with? Your locs looks like the size I want to start my 2 strand twist.
Thank you!!🥰 I just told my loctitian that I wanted medium to small locs. Once you start with the 2 strand twists, your loc tends to thicken, at least mine did lol. So if I started too big, I can only imagine how big my locs would be now

I was told the same thing so for the first maybe 6 months I was only going to my loctitian to wash and style my locs. After that I started using conditioner
Thank you so much for responding. I am on my second loc journey as my first set was ruined after 3 and 1/2 months and I feel like it was because I shampooed and didn’t use conditioner. It all bunched up and felt like wire 😩 it was horrible and had to comb them out and start over. I don’t know I just feel like my hair does better with a little conditioner. Thanks so much for the feedback. As always, love your hair, your videos. 😍😍💕💕

It all bunched up and felt like wire 😩 it was horrible and had to comb them out and start over. I don’t know I just feel like my hair does better with a little conditioner. Thanks so much for the feedback. As always, love your hair, your videos. 😍😍💕💕
