Why doesn’t Kathleen pronounce the L sound in her words. In ‘del’ she says ‘deh’, in ‘al’ she says ‘ah’. In ‘quail’ she says ‘quah’. Is there some reason for this? It’s a bit strange.
When you enunciate a letter like L , it becomes a diphthong and can make the word sound off. It's something that we do in choir, A LOT. It's hard to enunciate when you're singing high, without making it sound weird. Because of this, it's usually lightly pronounced in singing. Not in ALL singing though, obviously- just in instances where it makes sense. In this instance, the L sound would create a diphthong if sung throughout the entirety of the vowel, so she quickly pronounces the sound at the very end.
So beautiful....❤
너무너무 감동적입니다 요즘 날마다 선생님의 이 노래를 감상한답니다 오늘은 웬지 더 울컥하네요. 실은 제가 나이가 50이 넘어 이제야 성악도에 길을 걷고 있는 늦깍이 학생인데 선생님처럼 감동적인 노래를 부르고 싶은 것이 제 꿈이랍니다~~♡♡♡

I think its bc she is korean
Dani Me I see. Do Korea’s often ignore the ‘L’s’ in words? It does take away from fully enjoying the piece- even with such a pleasant sound.
I think it’s because she is singing her vowels longer. She is actually pronouncing L sound i think. Or maybe, recording problem
