Rafisahab had sung the songs for different actors similar to their own voices and that can't be denied. Salaam to Rafisahab. I also like the cheerful songs of Kishorda too. He was also a legend singer.
I know two such instances of Bollywood. One is this one where Kishore Kumar himself asked Laxmikant Pyarelal to get the song sung by MD. Rafi as they were not satisfied by his rendition. The other case was in the movie Sohini Mahiwal where MD Rafi had sung all the songs but Naushad Ji was not happy with Rafi sahab's rendition of the theme song Chand Chupa aur Tare Dube. Seeing Naushad Ji in tension MD. Rafi suggested him that his Student Mahendra Kapoor is very good in such high octave singing, he will do justice to your composition. Naushad had no option but to call Mahendra Kapoor who surprised Naushad Ji with a perfect rendition which he wanted. These singers had great respect for each other. Once Kishore Kumar said that if I can sing a song in ten ways, Rafi sahab can do it in hundred. Manna Dey always said that he tried to sing like Md. Rafi but could not sing like him whereas Md. Rafi always had great appreciation for Manna daa's classical singing. Many a times he also commented that Kishore bahut acha gate hain.

प्रीतपाल सिंह जी ने बिलकुल सही प्रतिक्रिया लिखा है। दोनों गायक बहुत महान स्तर के थे लेकिन रफ़ी साहब की बात ही कुछ अलग थी। उनके जैसा आवाज और गाने की style किसी गायक के पास आज तक नही है। रफ़ी साहब जैसा गायक आज तक पूरी दुनिया में पैदा ही नही हो पाया है जिसको किशोर कुमार जी भी मानते थे। इसके अलावा रफ़ी साहब एक मान व्यक्तित्व वाले इंसान भी थे जिनके अंदर मानवता कूट-कूट कर भरा था।

मेरे भाई मोटी भारी आवाज़ कभी मीठी सॉफ्ट सुरीली नहीं होती ये तीनों जिनकी आवाज़ में है 1 रफी साहब 2 लता दीदी 3 उदित नारायण जी मेरे भाई किसी ट्रेंड से पूछो शंका हट जाएगी रही बात किशोर दा को सुनने की सभी सुनते है रेडियो में पर सबसे मीठी सुरीली आवाज तो उन तीनों की ही है मोटी भारी मर्दानी आवाज़ डीजे जैसी लाउडनेस ही लाउडनेस अगर किसी को ऐसी आवाज़ अच्छी लगे तो कोई क्या कर सकता है ये तो वैसे हुआ कि एक भारी भरकम आदमी में फिटनेस के आभाव में सुंदरता खोजना ।

If he can sing semi-classical songs of Baiju Bawra, Kohinoor, Ratan, Basant Bahar, Sanjh Aur Sawera, Beti Beta, etc., what big deal it is for Rafi Sahab to sing a silly Song like "Ek Chatur Naar"? If an absolutely untrained Singer Kishore Kumar, can sing "Ek Chatur Naar" nicely, how can that song be difficult for Greatest Legendary Singer of the Millennium, Mohd. Rafi Sahab? Do some homework about legendary singers of India, before posting substandard comments like this!

You cannot deny the fact that Rafi had the most melodious and mellifluous voice among all singers. I have never cried or got goosebumps to any of the Kishore Kumar's songs. But when I listened to some of Rafi's songs My eyes got wet. Such is the charm and melody in Rafi's voice. If someone still says that Kishore is as good as Rafi then it is ego and nothing else.

@@kalyanmitra4996 Kishore became popular when Rafi quit singing for sometime. He went for Hajj and when he returned he didn't want to continue singing as he considered it unislamic. Kishore got advantage due to Rafi's absence not because he was a good singer. Upon Naushad's insistence he resumed singing and got award in 1978 for the song " Kya hua tera waada". If Kishore was indeed a better singer than Rafi then why Rafi sang a song for Kishore in a black and white film in which Kishore was an actor or why did Kishore refused to sing the song "nafrat ki duniya chod" from the film Haathi Mere Saathi and asked Rafi instead to sing the song as he knew that his voice was not good enough to sing such a sad and emotional song. Why did Manhoman Desai told that if God has got any voice then it must be Rafi's voice. Why didn't he say this about Kishore, Talat mehmood or any other singer. I told you it is an ego problem that people refuse to accept Rafi as better singer than Kishore.
Rafi sahab was a true gentleman.....there was no rivalry between rafi sahab and Kishore da...both are legends...they complimented each other...

यह बात गले नही उतर रही।दो रास्ते फिल्म मे एक दर्द भरा गीत है।यह एक ही गीत है जो दुखान्त है,अगर मोहम्मद रफी ही दर्द के गीत गासकते हैं तो यह गीत "खिजां के फूल पे आती कभी बहार नही,मेरे नसीब मे ऐ दोस्त तेरा प्यार नही।बाकि सब गाने चुलबुले छुप गए सारे नजारे आदि मो रफी ने गाए हैं।किशोर दा की आवाज एक अलग ही अद्वितीय (unique) है।रफी साहब की सरल रेशमी आवाज है,सुरीले हैं।वही किशोरदा की आवाज एक खासियतशुदा ,जिसमे दर्द के साथ गले मे खुश्की खुदादाद है।साऊण्ड अलग ही है।मन्ना डे साहब का गला जैसे खास है,किशोर दा का गला भी खास है।मैं भी संगीत का विद्यार्थी हूं।रात कली एक ख्वाब मे आई,जीवन से भरी तेरी आंखे,दिए जलते हैं,फूल खिलते है।कोई हमदम न रहा कोई सहारा न रहा,आदि गिना नही सकते एक से बढकर एक देवानन्द,राजेश खन्ना अमिताभ आदि केलिए जो गाने गाए हैं,उनमे एक अकेले किशोरदा मे सब अलग अलग अन्दर बसते थे यह एक बहुत बड़े गायक केलिए ही सम्भव है।लिखने केलिए लेखनी थक जाती है मेरे दोस्त किशोर दा केलिए।
