Multi talented artist is not just Kishore Kumar but pre-dated by Dr. P. Bhanumati, doyen of Telugu and Tamil films. She entered as a heroine in 1939 and became among the top most heroines in Telugu and Tamil. She owned Bharani Studio in Madras. Produced films. Directed them. Was Music Director and accomplished Carnatic singer singing her own songs in films. She was a well known author and even won Sahitya Academy award in Telugu literature. At the time of her marriage she was a school dropout but after giving birth to a son she resumed studies and did Ph.D also. That is real multi-faced talent especially considering it happened between 1930s to 1990s.

Barman Dada was an icon in musical composition and represented Hindustani classical music in international forum for many years. It's was a full contract between Navketan and SD Burman since inception of the production house during 1950.
I think Kishore da got very few opportunities during the golden era, because except for Burman da, nobody trusted Kishore da. In fact there are thousands of songs in rafi, Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor etc, which would have been great songs had those sung by Kishore da.
