As the "Other Couple", just wanted to say it was a pleasure to cross paths with the Green Bean Queen at Silver Springs State Park. We very much enjoyed the visit with you and your friends Bob & Maureen, thank you for the hospitality. May our paths cross again soon (Maybe the FL RV Supershow). Carry on in good health. Darrin, Cheryl & Gabby(Our green bean princess).
Once you go topper on the bed, ya never go back...I have two of them...one for bed at home and one for camping bed LOL Glad you both are enjoying the new rig! Carey on...
Rude wake up shower! Get an in-line shower valve onto hose. NuCamp previously installed shower heads with one. As for bed, we tried adding various foams before buying a replacement queen from Ikea. Sleep great now unless there's stars to gaze up to all night! Fun watching meteors, satellites & airplanes.
Have you considered getting a front bumper that has a hitch receiver that allows you to put a bike rack, cargo box, generator... that's what we have on our Ford F350, we bought a Ranch Hand front (and matching rear) bumper with the hitch receiver. Plus the bumpers are very sturdy and all the sensors were accommodated by the bumper manufacturer.
Great look into living in a truck camper. You may want to see about beddy beds for the bed. They have sales but the ease of zippering up your blankets everyday may be worth it!! Thanks for all your information and videos!!
I think it is a platform of some kind to park your new camper on ??? I still have my old camper dolly amazing to roll around a eleven foot Delta cab over reading all the answers below a kayak would be much more fun than a camper stand!!!
I think we have a plan for the bikes. We are hoping to not have anything attached to the front or back that makes us any longer than we already are. 🙌😁
Oru! Love mine. Can commiserate on the bed making. We have a LQ horse trailer with the bed in the gooseneck. Always a good workout making it. I started horse camping with a Lance TC and bumper pull horse trailer. Been thinking hard about returning to that. Nice video!
Hi guys! A wonderful coffee moment in the morning. If I had been 10 percent as cheerful in the morning as you after such an accident, I could also be on camera. No wonder people like you. Excited to see what happens next. Enjoy!
I’m still having challenges getting used to our microwave/convection oven. Sometimes you have to lower the temp the recommended 25 degrees and sometimes not. Ours didn’t come with adequate instructions so I search the internet every time I make something new.
Get yall a quickzip sheet! That's what I had to get for my camper and I love it! It's expensive, but worth it! I have a video review on my channel if you haven't heard of it yet!
I like that you are showing the set up of camp/hookup of water. I have to say never was a fan of microwave, but the convection oven/combo looks really useful. I would consider having that feature now I've seen it actually being used. Are you still using enjoying it? Glad you picked up a topper for the mattress. Its always hard to change what you sleep on. Hope it helps to give you a good night free of aches and pains. Thanks for the info you shared.
We’ve only been in it a few days and only cooked in the oven once. So far so good! If you watch some of our older videos we bake quite a bit in our Coleman camp oven outside on a propane stove. From scones to apple pie!😉😁. Not sure yet if this will replace that oven.
I bet that's a two person model in the back seat. Will be awesome to see how fast you can get it set up. We know a couple people that have the fold up kayaks and they love them.
Very cool! All the newness of things and learning. We've all been there and i needed my topper after my first trip too. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to store and carry items. That looks like an origami Kayak. Have fun you guys!
Very cool. I so identified with the coffee spill. I am interested in the mattress springy things…..and how you like them. I am going with folding kayak. On my boat I had a hatch above the bed and so loved it. Miss that. Loved the looks of the campground.😊
Just watched and didn't want to read anyone else's comment t or skip ahead to the next video, but, I know what that is in your backseat! It's an origami kayak or canoe! Loving your series btw!
My TC (Palomino 8801) came with a very comfortable Serta mattress. I think I got lucky, because it seems that's the first thing everyone changes. Happy trails.👍

Hi to you all. If you think that your bed mattress is bad , you should check out our 2022 Winnebago Revel 👎 and after 6 months still 👎 haha 😂 we are going to get a real mattress but had to up grade the Lithium batteries first not enough power ect. Thanks for sharing your your adventures. Carey On!
Hey! Congrats on the new adventure mobile! Saw how much fun it is making the bed and thought I would tell you about what we use. It’s called “Beddys” it’s so easy to make!! We love ours! It zips up on both sides. Like a sleeping bag but it has sheets (bottom and top) sewn in. I love love love mine. They are expensive but you can find a coupon code. 😊 Cheers!
Our first truck camper mod was a mattress topper too. I find it hard to pay attention to what your saying when Pistol’s in the scene. I love Boston’s.😉

Greetings from New Zealand. I am a 66 year old single male. I am currently living/travelling in my fully self contained 4.3m caravan. Before this I had a 9m motorhome (12 Months) and a 7m motorhome (also 12 months). Have now been in the caravan for 3 years. I like the caravan because I have the tow vehicle as a daily driver when parked up. I used to A-frame (flat tow) a Suzuki Grand Vitara behind the motorhomes, but find the caravan a lot easier to hook up to the tow vehicle than the Suzuki was to the motorhomes. Especially as I am by myself. Surprising just how heavy an A-frame is when you are trying to connect it to both the tow and towed vehicles. How do you think a slide-on camper (truck camper) would suit a person as they get older, primarily getting in and out of the bed? Cheers and safe travels.
@@CareyOnVagabond I think New Zealand probably has the most caravans/campervans/motorhomes per 1,000 population of anywhere in the world, although I have no official figures to back that up 🙂. But they are everywhere. However slide-on (truck) campers are not very common. However there are quite a few smaller (Fuso, Isuzu etc) motorhomes that have the main bed over the cab. This has never appealed to me because the height from floor to bed level would be far higher than a vehicle like yours. I have only recently started thinking about slide-on campers. The option of being able to take the camper off is very appealing. You might like to look at GrizzlyNbear Overland on TH-cam. Leigh (Australian) and Steffi (French) have travelled all over the world in their Landrover Defender 130 fitted with a slide-on camper.
Did you guys get a new mattress for the bed? I bought a 5th wheel in September. Used the mattress for 2 weeks before it failed. 1st time trailer buyer so didn't realize I needed to do that. My back is much happier now.
Does your water compartment have a hole in the bottom so that you can fit the hose up through it and keep the door closed on windy nights? If so, you can use an elbow fitting to avoid bending the hose near the connection. Also, adding a quick release fitting makes life easier for those of us with old and weak hands. I envy your oven placement. I have a Lance 865 and have to use a step stool to safely access heavier meals. I have to eat my Wheaties before replacing the sheets, but love that skylight you have! Can't wait to see more.
Love the Channel and been a longtime follower. Looking at the 820 as well and my question for you is did you look at the ‘23 as I am for the raised dinette and great place for a large Lithium Upgrade? Safe travels! 🛻💨

It’s a two inch memory foam topper for a queen sized bed. We had it in the van and don’t recall where we got it or the brand. Had to cut a few inches off as our mattress is a short queen.
Relieved to see the mattress topper👍🏼👏🏼. With the hard no-give mattress I was concerned Dave would irritate his shoulder from his previous wipe-out accident. Was it better sleeping after the mattress topper or you need another 2" topper? Looking forward to watching the setup of the kayak.
