Just took 12 people to see this beautiful film, not a dry eye in the theater, some wept and gave there life to Christ right in the parking lot, others said they want to go to Church...Glory to God
Wow. I had a profound experience with my close friend, who was already a Jesus follower before. She asked me what I thought as the credits rolled and I couldn't speak for at least 5 minutes. I just took her hand and we sat there in awe until we started laughing. The experience continues and it's been 5 days. I spoke to a therapist about what made it so profound and couldn't keep my composure recalling different scenes and the love, the acceptance, the courage, the pain, the humanity in them. I believe the truth in this film is universal and all who are open can access it no matter what they know or don't about spirituality. I came from a non religious culture very uninformed and inexperienced on this. In the film only a select few Bible quotes and moments of direct teaching are used. The truth and meaning is almost entirely lived out, unfolding and discovered through the characters experiences. This is why I believe it is so powerful. It is human.
I went to see this movie with my parents and it was sooooo amazing that I felt like I belonged there. I was dealing with a lot of problems and so much pressure that I was happening in my life that I almost lost hope. But when I saw this movie the raging in my life just stopped and if God can heal me he can heal anyone.
I went to go see this movie not too long ago and I was amazed. That one line from Lonnie resonates with me. The raging storms in life just stop the second we turn to Jesus. No other religion has this feeling. No other name has this power. People have tried to convince the world that Christianity is a Roman invention designed to trick people into believing a lie. They’re wrong. If it’s so fake then why does it carry so much power? Why can the storms in my life stop in a flash by turning to Jesus? I’ve been a Christian since I was a kid but I’d never surrendered my life to God. That running ended a few weeks ago. It’s an uphill battle every day. I still struggle with things. But I always turn to Jesus for His healing. Praise our Lord Jesus
I went to see with this family and I thought I wasn’t gonna like this because most Christian films are cheesy, not really good and not really accurate, but I was really wrong about this one, I really liked this film, it’s historically accurate on the late 60’s-early 70’s setting, and having hippies believing in God and Jesus, which not of all them do, but I was really interested to Lonnie Frisbee, he was a good man with a terrible past and he founded Jesus and want to spread the news is just amazing, plus the actor, Jonathan Roumie is amazing, he also plays Jesus in The Chosen, and I think when I look into him, he definitely looks what Jesus would look like, and this is what pureflix aka terribleflix needs to take notes, and this film, Jesus Revolution is amazing in any way, I would definitely love to watch this again, the cast was awesome too, especially Jonathan Roumie and Kelsey Grammer, as a christian, this film really got me as well as films, like The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, The Passion of the Christ and The Prince of Egypt, and as a film critic I named this film, one of the greatest films of all time.
For Lonnie Frisbee: "Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever." Dan 12. Shine on for eternity Lonnie. You ran a good race.
But he came back to God. Life is never easy or goes the way of a story arc that we would write. But I believe the full arc will be apparent in the life ahead and then we will see.
He was very confused on his deathbed because he knew God had made a promise that he would reach so many more people so he couldn’t believe that God‘s will would be for him to die of AIDS, if God made him a promise that he would still reach millions, but he’s reaching millions now even after death caused by the Romans 1 consequences of past sin. But he truly is in a better place. Death for him was not a punishment, it was a consequence, but it was also him getting to be with Jesus full time. Sin often carries consequences with deep ramifications, Sin not only separates us from God but it causes a self-harm or harm to others. Even after eternal forgiveness through the blood of Christ, we still have to face the earthly consequences. But no sin or disease is caused by God. Sin, it’s consequences, and Death entered this world by the rejecting of an only good God who was and is Love.
Jesus said unless you repent you will die in your sins. Lonnie loved his sin more than God. Examine yourself to see whether or not you’re in the faith.
They used a few actual songs from secular radio in the movie. Great production value. The songs from Calvary seemed to be re-done slightly from the way I remember them. They seemed more mellow, less orchestrated, a greatly improved reduction from the original recordings.

I was a kid when my mama was in this movement. It's because the hippies. I now love all people. That God chooses the least of these
It’s sad that Lonnie Frisbee left Cavalry Chapel to go to Florida.
