In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. When I saw the foot washing scene in the theater, I turned to my son sitting next to me, and with tears streaming down my face said, "That is what real Christianity looks like".
That hit me so hard I'll never ever get over it. My son caught it too.
I watched it other night. Reminds me of today's world where we're so quick to judge others instead of lending a helping hand. As a 80's millennial person who grew up in a troubled house,if wasn't for a AC DC "freak" friend,who knows where I would be today.

Jonathan Roumie is doing more as an actor for the cause of Christ than so many of us can ever hope to. He's making Jesus Christ and Christianity TANGIBLE and understandable on a more personal level to a whole new generation that understands things in a different and more visual way. This is HUGE what he's doing!

It brings back so much for me. Even the trailers brought tears to my eyes! I have so many great memories of those days of Pastor Chuck, the music, and of Calvary Chapel. The Holy Spirit was truly moving in a big way!

He loves the entire world so much, and desperately wants everyone to choose His gift of life HE paid for.

Christianity alone gives something totally unique and vital to our world - GRACE! One Way - Jesus Christ.
This part definitely made me tear up. It is such a beautiful scene to see a pastor humble himself and watch the feet of his church members. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples as an example of how we are to humble ourselves and serve others. When this pastor washed their feet I had a smile so big and my eyes just filled with tears. It is such a heartwarming scene
i just am astounded at god /the kingdoms solution to our problems .[god works his magic so everybody involved in the dispute is respected and honoured and ultimately benefits ;the opposite of the world mentality,[law of the jungle ;where for me to win you have to lose ] for me the brilliance of this scene ,is how smart god is to come up with creative solutions ,this came out of a problem with the hippie's with their dirty feet ruining the new shag pile carpet .
god didn't run over the parishioners who valued their shag pile carpet and disrespect them by calling them idiots ,or worse .he came up with a much better ,kingdom solution which reflects his character ,of loving everybody.
i tell you god knows how to work both sides of the street better than oskar schindler. reminds me of the scene in" Rees Howells, Intercessor" when the tramps moved in and had the audacity to sit in papas chair .
jesus said /commanded to "love the unlovely" ,but you can only do that with grace and him changing your heart .

I saw this wonderful, wonderful movie 2 days ago. I cried n laughed n cried n laughed. The scripture says, " Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty." And that's what the hippies found @ Calvary Chapel after Pastor Chuck Smith opened his 'heart' listening to Lonnie Frisbee explain Jesus' Love. Hallelujah!🙏❤

Hope it comes to Spain in Spanish...I am sure it is really a film moved by the Holy Spirit...my husband and I were discotec owners and Jesus found us there in 1983 after 3 and a half years after loosing everything except the greatest Treasure of all Jesus Is 33:6, we opened a bi lingual church in our home just because we believed the Bible..now 37 years later and after being hosts to the American navy where there was a real revival...Sonny Hobbs are you out there? Remember? We remember you all with such love...think it wld make a good movie but only if it honoured the Lord as you have done...may this film bring many to the foot of the Cross and that Jesus will find so many hungry souls...the Lord bless you all...

I saw the movie today with 5 Christian Sisters ❤ Our pastor Rick Booye did his internship at Calvary Chapel with Chuck Smith. He moved to Oregon in the early 80s and was preaching to us hippies in Southern Oregon. He just retired and we will miss him. Pastor Travis Connick has taken over his ministry and we are so Blessed.
I know the teens in my area want to see it, actually they tell me they need to get to places like church. I’m thinking about buying them tickets and taking them if their parents will let me(their parents literally don’t care what they do). The teens and kids in my area are begging me to take them to church and I don’t have enough room in my car. I keep praying for God to send more people willing to give GenZ and Alpha a ride. They need the most basic of truths, you have to hear out the funny things they say and don’t tell them they’re wrong try to translate it into a scriptural understanding, because they’re talking about what they’re actually fearing and seeing but they just don’t have any Christian words to explain what they often called the matrix run by Reptiles and so on. They aren’t wrong this world is actually spiritual and a lot of what is said to be true isn’t true, because it’s spiritual, as for people seemingly possessed, yeah that’s scriptural, Satan was a “Reptillian“ twisting truth and scripture tells us what to do about it so renewed my daily in Scripture and Prayer. I let them bring their questions and concerns about scripture/world events to me and if I don’t know I spend time figuring it out with scripture and prayer and honestly their questions are hard so sometimes I’m looking into Hebrew word studies but the simple truth of God wins out from that and it’s not by my efforts but by God bringing those seeking to those willing to help them find. But I am tapped out. 12-13 wanting to go to church? Praise God, but God needs to send people willing to help them be carpooled. I am already running hours a week for a teen to get to work so she can save up for a car and get a better job so she won’t go homeless. I’m not saying the stuff to brag, I’m saying the stuff because The harvest is plentiful, but the workers a few, therefore we need to be praying to the Lord of the harvest to send more workers into HIS field. Too many of my church friends are too busy going to four Bible studies, then to do what scripture actually says and taking these spiritually orphaned children whose parents aren’t around. it’s too hard for me to drive them to my church, and churches don’t seem to want the liability, so I’m literally thinking about doing a park ministry because the kids that are hungry I have never heard of heaven other than from cartoons, they don’t know who Jesus is, they think Mary must be part of the Trinity, they know they’re scared, they don’t know their identity, they don’t even know true history other than what’s been pushed upon them to make them divided against each other.

My high school friends and I were part of Calvary in Costa Mesa in the 70's and it opened up so many doors for me to grow with God. World Christian Surfing Association supported us all the way!
My tears drop when i saw foot washing scene....that's Jesus want us to do, share food and clothes to poor people, help them to have better life, visit the prisoners, care about homeless children etc...as Christian feel so sad when i face the reality that church able to build mega building with luxury interior but less care to poor people

Saw this amazing movie last night. This seen of Pastor Chuck washing the feet of these folks just brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t help but think of Jesus washing the feet of the disciples.

I love this movie. This is what Christianity should be about. Also found out the next day that our senior Pastor actually knows Chuck Smith and Greg Laurie. That is so cool.

Saw this in theaters over the weekend. It was exactly what I had hoped for and more. This is what humanity should strive for. Welcoming all no matter their background, creed, status, appearance or any other fabrication of man made to separate us. I am agnostic so like most beings I put my trust into something bigger than myself and I trust in the overall goodness of human kind. I don't mind calling it God to help others understand, but most important is my understanding of life

I have not seen this movie yet, but I just realized it is based on Calvary Chapel, and that is the church that lead me to give my life to Jesus. They teach straight from scripture, a message in its purest form and always fill their attendees with spiritual food. I am also a big fan of the Chosen and using it to teach bible study to new believers looking to draw closer to God and Jonathan Roumie does a great job as Jesus. With this movie, and the Asbury revival which is spreading we are seeing a new movement among our youth hungry for truth in a fallen world. Please pray for GenZ, they may lead this country out of the spiritual famine that's destroyed so much.

I fought these type of battles with deacons like this one! So the movie spoke to me on so many levels!
I know of an independent church that was sharing a building with a 7th Day Adventist church (who worship on Saturdays). The 7th Day Adventists eventually kicked the independent church out, because they said the indies were ruining their new carpet! Turns out that the city had just repaved the streets & both congregations had been tracking that black stuff into the church.
This bought tears to my eyes ... lots of them . Beautiful and wonderful x

Beautiful movie. Saw it opening weekend with my husband.
Kelsey has a similar voice to Pastor Chuck but the early days Chuck had black hair and sparkling green eyes. He was a larger than life man (44 long) and his youth was working to subdue mental patients. He was the man in the white coats you call when someone goes insane. He helped us with one over dose- the person stepped out of the moving car on the way to see him (how crazy is that). Chuck prayed but it was not an exorcism (before that movie came out) and helped get the OD committed. They never recovered their sanity but our family was so grateful for Chuck's help. This was not uncommon for Pastor Chuck.
I can't wait until this movie is out of theatres so I can watch it with my Mom.

My brother and his wife were sitting at an intersection in the early 70s a bus pulled up beside them with Jesus wrote all over it. My brother Dallas said to his wife Becky, look Jesus freaks, the next time I pulled up to that intersection he was sitting in the bus with his wife. They went on to spend 15 years on the mission field in the Philippines, and saw many miracles

I drove almost an hour to watch this movie. Everyone left theater with wet eyes including me. We need this kind of message right now in this generation. This is not just a movie based on a true story but it's a hope and strength for the weak and also a lesson for everyone. I can't thank you enough for making this one.

This could heal our country right now, in much the same way that the era portrayed helped give closure to the division of the 60s.
Saw this a couple of months ago. I did not expect to tear up as much as I did. Usually when I think of Christian films, I think cheesy, but this one - felt real. And it's message got to me. Between this film, and watching The Chosen, and reading the Bible, God has rekindled something in me and I thank him that in a world so full of darkness, films like Jesus Revolution can still be beacons of light.
We need another revolution. God will always overcome evil and always love us

We saw this in the theater 3 times. Now we've watched on Prime Video and DVD 11 times. We just wish we had the full 3 hours of the original cut to watch - another 11 times.
