    I've been lucky enough to fly with Toby in lots of places, including several times in Morocco. This video is a true reflection of the variety and beauty of Morocco, as well as the excellent flying to be had at a time when Europe is in hibernation. If you want to spend your evenings learning about polar curves or speed to fly you will not find anyone better able or more qualified to explain it nor more keen to do so. Or you can drink beer which is fun too! Passion Paragliding is very well named and thoroughly recommended.

    A few observations for flying in Morocco, when XC beckons, make sure you know the air space, especially regarding the XC trips to the lake and back. One of the guides for the area is currently loading up the air space data for your vario and should be available soon. Chances are really good that if you do make it as far as the lake in front of Aguergour, you will have violated the air space of the Marrakech airport. The trees or the camel ranch are a good indicator that you have gone too far. If you doubt this, check with the local guides and especially those connected to the local board that makes the rules for paragliding in the area. Second: walk the LZ you intend to use, they have some wicked sticker bushes there that will tangle your lines terribly. They also have some cacti in Legzera that are really wicked also. Leave yourself plenty of room for landing as it can be rather buoyant on warm days extending that nice glide you intended. Commonly used LZ below Aguergour, has power lines running across the path if you find yourself being popped up. Other than these precautions, you will find it a very enjoyable experience to Fly Morocco.

      @passionparagliding3994  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed! Stunning venue. The first time we visited there (20 years ago) we flew 50km out and return! Problem is the wind is usually off to the north. Gotta be lucky

    • @jakubmendys1549
      @jakubmendys1549 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If lucky enough you can make both south and north ways downwind as the wind shifts during the day :)

      @passionparagliding3994  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what happened to me! ...once!! I've been there many times. Lucky is the key! :)
      There's actually loads of sites missing. Air Ourir and Ait Barka, Tiz N Test, plenty of sites near Tafraoute (my favourite town in Morocco) We only really covered the "famous" sites in this video.

    I am thinking of a ten day holiday with my paraglider in March 2023 at Agadir. I am having trouble finding results on how to get to the closest paragliding sites to there. Is there any source for information on how to get to the sites or possibly even staying there instead of Agadir. I only seem to be able to find info on the bigger urban areas. Thanks

    Australian pilot I will be in Portugal next year, so giving some thought to going to Morocco in September. I am usually a solo traveler and not that keen on flying with large groups . Is it easy to get a guide or drive to some of these places? Is it safe? Generally, I prefer coastal flying but don't mind the odd day thermic. Are there other really nice coastal flying sites further north that are easy to access?

    Why is the map of Morocco
    truncated? Where is the Moroccan Sahara? You touch our territorial integrity, and this touches the feelings of the Moroccans. I advise you not to adopt the Google map, but rather the map of Morocco as a whole. Try to visit Dakhla and laayoune in the Sahara will dazzle with their beauty.

    hey nice video but it seems that in the map at 1:04 and 9:10, it doesn't show the complete version of the Moroccan territory.
    i'm gonna assume that you didn't do it on purpose, someone who saw the Moroccan beauty for 20years from its sky won't deny it's Saharas existence, correct me if i'm wrong but that had to be cleared.

    Looks fun and it's a beautiful place but I'm too chicken to go to some 3rd world Muslim country. Morocco is where those Danish and Norwegian girls were beheaded. That's just asking for trouble. Plus if you ever get injured with their health care personnel, infrastructure and equipment shortages medical treatment is a gamble. There's a good chance they won't be able to do anything except let you lay there and die or try to ship you hundreds of miles over less than adequate roads to a more capable facility that won't be as capable as it's made out to be..
