Tip for putting on the display board. Only solder the end pins on both terminal strips. That makes it easy to adjust to 90 degrees by heating each pin as required and eliminate the 'bending' step which is best avoided. Second method. If you have a breadboard put the headers into the breadboard and then fit the wifi module on top of that. This should hold everything at 90 degrees. Then carefully (and quickly) solder the end two pins and one middle pin. You do not want to ruin your breadboard by too much heat. Double check it looks ok and then carefully and gently pull the module free of the breadboard (pulling on the pin strips not the module) then place onto your antistatic mat and solder the rest of the pins.
A tip to soldering in components like that switch that you're having a hard time getting flush is to solder one leg, and then after it's in place hold the board while pressing against the component with one hand, while you use the other hand to reflow the joint. When you feel the component push into place, remove the soldering iron, keep squeezing for a couple of seconds until the joint has cooled and then let go.

Rose, thank you the great video. You are very lucky that the connector for that battery didn't match. The lipo you have is a 2s (2series) lipo which would have pushed twice the expected voltage into your device 7.4v. The instructions specify a 1s (single cell) lipo which would only provide 3.7v. you likely would have burned it up with that battery.
Very interesting, thank you very much. Easy to understand and methodical. I was worried about the kit side of it as my soldering skills are not good at all, you showed how simple the assembly is and pointed out some interesting approaches to fitting the parts.

Rose, I just built a Morserino32 by following you excellent video. Thank you. A few problems due to my eyesight and hand tremors, but I got there :-) But the LIPo battery I ordered from Amazon will not fit under the Heltec. --- too big! Did you find one that did fit? If so, could you send me a link? I'm also having problems locating a USB-A to micro USB cable. I'm housebond due to health issues, Can you help
Nice job and the case is a perfect fit. It motivates me to get mine done. Though I do wonder as my vision is falling off if there is a way to transfer the display to a tablet or laptop, or possibly increase the screen size on the unit?
The sliding switch needs to be "On" only if you are charging the battery. If you are using external USB power it doesn't matter which position it is in.

Great video. I used a sewing needle to open the channels on the pin extenders. Made mounting to the module much easier.
