    I purchased two of these. The first one, after a few months started to produce static through my speakers. I tried everything- even called Sweetwater for assistance. Nothing worked. I sent it back thinking it was broken somehow and I purchased another one. Same thing happened after a few months. My recording were the best Ive ever gotten from my home studio, but I could not use it because of the crackling so I sent the second one back as well. Been depressed about that ever since.

    I really like what it does for what you put it in front of. It makes vocals airy and dimensional and allows vocal naunces to be heard. Same with a clean electric sound.

    Short answer yes, and my ears tell me that the sound quality coming out of the ua 276 is superior to the Scarlet 2i anything and Motu M2. And that is without compressor or vintage switch. Noise floor is ridiculously low.

    It sounds good. Other than esthetics and that phantom power, I don't hear much that would make me run out and buy it as my next have gear. UA fans will love this.

    I've been grinding on a Gen2 Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 for many moons now, and while that setup has been "woiking" for me?
    I must admit this interface does have my "set it and forget it" taste buds a GASSING.
    Top shelf demo content BTW my dude!

    I WILL BUY VOLT 476 TOMORROW. i was about to try motu m4 or focusrite for the price but i used to have motu and sold it due to issues i had... i checked in web and saw that also in M2 & M4 sooooo many users had issues with crackls , pops or other issues. and less but noticable also with focusirte. probably some of them might be caused from windows issues but universal audio i didnt find any big issue in the web. i got bored trying to fix things in new products and i dont wont to risk again. Also in motu tech support is awfull. for my previous experience they replied me in my mails over a month. i still have history if anyone asks. i sent almost 10 mails and go 1 reply after man months telling me to do the obvious. reupdate firmaware check drivers etc. i;ll go with universal audio. No other risky buys for me... at least i havent heard anyone complaining about stability or sound quality in universal audio. I d rather give more $ in the start than trying to return or sell the device after a while...

    would have loved to see your live comparison between the Lewitt Connect 6 and this UA 276. I feel that Lewitt has more gain (75 db) and the Volt seems to sound better . With a Shure MV7. Was looking for some validation to justify my $400 CAD splurge on the UA 276 🙂

    I'm a lo-fi producer...and out all the other ai comparisons...this is the best one for me. The others tend to be more crisp with highs. I love the warmth and thickness of the sound...thus perfect for lo-fi production!

    What if I need to turn down the output of the song I’m playing with to hear my recording input? That’s the one feature that’s glaringly missing for me. Perhaps having to turn down the master output in my DAW? I wonder if that’s a muscle memory I can adapt to :) Is the missing blend knob between what has been recorded and what you are recording a big deal for anyone?

    I'm running an $89 Behringer UMC202 + an $89 Fethead. (You can drive a quiet dynamic mic, but not as clean as the UA, so you really do need a Fethead or a Cloudlifter with the Behringer). -Plus you need an extra adapter if you want to monitor mono as stereo; there's no handy toggle like with the UA. Total cost? Around $200 -If you need a second Fethead, add another $90.., so very close to the same price as the UA, and not as feature rich. But it sounds really good and it has been flawless since 2018 when I first got it. (You can still get the same Behringer for $89, new on Amazon!)
    Though, if I was starting again I might just drop the $300 on the UA and be done with it, except it's been handy to have those preamps as separate components.
    But honestly, my most useful piece of kit has been the Zoom Podtrak P4. -You get *four* XLR inputs *plus* the ability to record while sending a signal into OBS at the same time. For only $200! If you need a four input interface from anybody else, you're looking at $500 easy, and if you need an external recorder, you're looking at another big expense.
    Zoom wins the podcaster game hands down.

    How did you release your XLR cables? did you notice after you plug your XLR in it is impossible to pull it out? You will never have access to use that channel with TRS Quarter inch input. I have 2 Volts a 4/76 and a 2/76 my XLR cables a permanently locked in. They have no release tab.

    Not related to this interface - but are there any interfaces that you are aware of, that are truly plug n play under windows? Reason I ask, is my interface is plugged into my thunderbolt dock - which is normally for my personal laptop, but sometimes has my work laptop plugged in - which I'm very limited in what I install on it.
    Budget wise - I'm aiming to do this quite cheaply - it's got a pod mic feeding into it, and driving a pair of KRK monitors.

    I'm trying it out once it arrives because of it's good reviews and mainly 5 DC power source. I am fairly new to this but I can't understand why it's accepted that gains always have to be around 3:00 for voice over / voice speaking. That seems to get you awfully close to dicey noise issues.

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really on most newer interfaces.
      Anything with an ein as low as this thing is shouldn't be much of a problem at all

    • @sunnyboner676
      @sunnyboner676 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a theory that all gain must be pushed to around 70% to 75% of their max for the best ratio to ensure the best quality for recording.

    I am in hard decision between SSL2 and Volt276 that is double priced.
    I am newbie on sound recording and just started learning music software.
    I just want to play my guitar, make some backing track to support it and record my voice for fun.
    ... I love the design of Volt176 / 276 so much and I think SSL2's design is ugly.
    and I think the 276's compressor buttons may be useful for newbie like me ,
    but I am not sure these 2 points worth the doubled price between 276 and SSL2.
    ... Anyone please suggest me more idea . >_
