    I love the Volt. I tried out a handful of interfaces before the Volt was released, but have stayed with it and will use it for years.
    They give you some nice plugins with it too. The Ampeg bass amp is awesome.

    as someone that likes to talk in people's ears over video games as they compliment "wow i could listen to your voice all day," my wet dream recently was to get a 500 series setup and really toy with what processing i could get in real time. i messed up this weekend on my current audio interface, and i thought the headphone output on my scarlett 4i4 went dead (i just foolishly deleted the software playback as i was using it as my DAC for my PC), so i started looking at new interfaces and stumbled into the volt x76 series. Needless to say, I'll be buying the 276 relatively soon as it's exactly something that I want to mess around with. i feel like it's the only "channel strip" style audio interface and i'm all for it.

    I've had an LA-610 mkII for years, I can attest to the chocolate nature of those Putnam circuits. The warmth and saturation is silky smooth, the color it brings to the signal is very musical. I use it for everything, tracking twice for stereo. I really should grab a second unit, lol. But this would make a great interface. Catchy tune, now stuck in my head.

    • @oinkooink
      @oinkooink 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the 610mkii but the compressor tends to be a little slow on initial transients. Which is a shame because if it compressed the signal evenly for the duration it'd be great.

This one seems like it will fit my current setup better, and trying to focus more on creating music than plug-in rabbit holes. Cheers

    I was also considering an upgrade to the volt 476 thinking that it combines both good sound quality and all these analogue goodies that seem to be worth the extra $. However, your video exceeded my expectations. The UI basically transformed your track by breathing life into the vsts and characeter into the hardware synths and the result was really beautiful and natural sounding. Hats off! Did you notice any latancy issues (the specs don't seem too good on that one) and do you think it would be too daring to use the compressor for bus compression or mastering?

    • @USSLIBERTYREMEMBERER
      @USSLIBERTYREMEMBERER ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only speak to my own experience but the compressor’s analog and doesn’t introduce any latency. I wouldn’t master with it, not enough control

    Greetings to all! Tell me please, volt476p + MacM1 + Logic, is it possible to somehow set up separate mixes for different outputs in this card? Inside a DAW or something else? I need it for performances. So that the DAW tracks I have defined go to the "Digital Audio Console" in one input, and other tracks in another.

    • @1lxftedgocrazy
      @1lxftedgocrazy ปีที่แล้ว

      this is an interface no sound card, if you are using a daw live i believe you would set your outputs through there. The volt 476 has 4 outputs which idk if you could route 4 mono tracks seperately through the outputs or if the daw would recognize them as 1/2 & 3/4 but my initial thoughts are you can either run 4 mono outputs if your lucky or 2 stereo outputs & then the rest is in the routing id assume.
      I use fl studio mainly but i know on my mixer channel i can set the output for each individual channel so id assume you could assign each channel to a separate output on logic or whatever your live daw is.

    • @1lxftedgocrazy
      @1lxftedgocrazy ปีที่แล้ว

    • @1lxftedgocrazy
      @1lxftedgocrazy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cqab Get a TRS cable like you would for a studio monitor speaker should be the same male input on both sides... you plug the cable in the output of the interface as if you were hooking up to a speaker but you just (loop it) connect it into the mic / line input on the interface.
      At this point any audio coming out of the interface (monitoring) the big knob on the 276 (the headphones volume knob wont affect the Monitor output which will be the signal that the input is receiving. (take note of this as you watch your input level you adjust the preamp gain / monitor output & or adjust the volume / effect before you "loop it" to make sure you have ideal volume set.
      Just make sure when you do this you dont run the Directmonitoring on the interface / have the channel muted that the mic input will be on and you understand how your monitoring works on your daw because when you have this "loop" going on it will be interference to the max LOL ive done it a couple times luckily i keep limiters / clippers set to save my ears.
      Hope that gets you in the right direction and if this didnt explain enough for you to understand a quick google search as to how to (loop) the output into the input on an audio interface will find what you need easily.

    watched several videos and have a 476 myself, can't hear any difference with 'vintage'
    Also, curious, what is the real advantage of having the compressor vs just using a compressor plugin. It's a bit puzzling since they give you so much software to do everything else, the compressor and vintage mode are mild in comparison to software effects.

    • @Gear4musicSynthsTech
      @Gear4musicSynthsTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The difference is subtle so that it's never damaging, although we hope the compounded effect is clearer at the end of the video when you hear multiple tracks with/without! You can absolutely record without the effect applied and add similar things with plugins, though it must be said that what's in the 476 and others are analogue circuits rather than DSP, thematically similar to recording through a nice analogue hardware preamp and compressor - which you may well do if you owned them. The advantage is ease of use (just set and forget), getting a more pleasing sound at the source so you have less to do in the edit, and the interfaces are kept affordable.

    Hi, some of the specific personal experience I've had with this VOLT and my new WORK STATION PC3K8: 1) I can't load SOFT BONDEL, the system won't recognize my PIN and IUSER ID. I just get empty and stupid E-Mails from UA that urge me to be patient... This is exactly why I had to turn to CAKEWALK. And then surprises awaited me! I connected my Work Station via AUX to both universal inputs and via USB to the PC. Result: You can even record MIDI, but you can listen to AUDIO, but you can’t record: only noises and a stupid metronome (with distortion) go. MIDI quality is also low. I'm not getting high yet, but just wasting time looking for problems and waiting for a response from UA.🧷
