  • A late September wander through the garden with Elizabeth as she films plants which, before saying their farewell to 2013, provide good food sources for Bees to build up their winter stores.......and look forward to next spring.

My part time job is rescuing bumbles from the greenhouse average is two a day, a child's fishing net is ideal for the job

Where i live there is a vine that grows here called; Carolina jessamine and it has yellow trumpet shaped blooms. My mom has one planted thirty years ago. it began blooming in august and has continued to bloom throughout the fall and winter despite 15 degree weather in jan. The bees are all over it. it grows wild in the woods in my area. The tops of trees are all yellow now.

Of the plants in the video, I can only replace pyeweed, sunflower, penstemon and aster among the native ones in my area, all four very good nectar plants for the pollinators.
