In May 2019 my wife and I went to Paris. I had promised her 41 years earlier I would take her there. The first day there we walked to the Eiffel Tower but got sleeted on a the temperature tumbled so we ran to the Cafe Gustave near by. That was my first sketch in Paris. The interior was a bit tough to sketch but the soup was warm and very good. The second day was the Louvre! Awe inspiring and very crowded, but I was able to sketch the courtyard from same spot from which you sketched it. The third day we walked along the river in an attempt to get as close as possible to Norte Dame cathedral. Could not get in due to the aftermath of the fire, but did get many photos and a good sketch there. Next was Versailles, another wonder to see. Got to sketch the front court yard. I was able to sketch several street scenes before the week was over. Then we met friends and bused to Normandy to tour the battle field. More sketches. The French people were wonderful. The food was great. The memories will last a lifetime. I am really glad we went.
First time seeing your channel ♥️ This has been always a dream of mine to travel and have pocket sized sketch book to keep serendipitous moments & memories in a creative manner. Inspired to revisit my pen and paper. Thank you Kathens!
Welcome 😊Glad I could get you back into drawing again. If you want to try out urban sketching it's always an option to go on little daytrips in your area to sketch. It doesnt always have to be a different country.
Yes I've tried them a few times but unfortunetly they didn't feel so natural to me. Maybe it's a preference, maybe it's just my lack of skill with them 😅 But I will surely get back to them at some point 😊
Hello Love your drawings very much. Best wishes for your beautiful travels. What kind of watercolor brushes, watercolor and sketchbook do you use? Thank you for your time.
Thank you, I mostly use german brands. Sketchbook is from Hahnemühle (Toned Watercolour Book), Colors are from Schmincke and the Brush.. I'm not quite sure I think it's a travel brush from Escoda. Hope that helps 🙂
Ah this reminded me of my Paris trip, so nice. I'm doing some 'research' (i.e. watching a bunch of other vids) to make my own travel sketchbook vlog similar to this and I'm auper excited! Thanks for the inspo :)
I'm thrilled to hear that you're feeling inspired to make your own travel sketchbook vlog. I wish you all the best with your project and hope that it brings you as much joy as it did for me 🌞
Lovely sketches😊. I visited Paris and loved all the art and architecture. We didn't realise how big the Louvre was either, we could have spent a couple of days there!! The view from the Arc de Triomphe was wonderful, looking out over Paris. Paris is iconic when it comes to art history, so many amazing artists went there in the past to learn their craft. Thanks for taking us along.👍Happy Easter.🐥
Oh it's a bit hard to tell, since it takes longer when I film my sketches for a video. But normally it takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on the level of detail 🙂
Ah yeah I was also confused about that. I'm using the "Pentel Brush Pen Pigment", which is only available in black, grey and brown. The regular pentel pens are the colourful ones and I still cry over the fact that they're not waterproof 🥲
I recently found your channel and it's so peaceful to watch your sketch travel vlogs. I have a question tho: why is it copyrighted to film the tour Eiffel?

I came here for the urban sketch setup and now I really want to know about your boots! so cute!

Excellent video production and interesting Urban Sketching as always
Thanks! 🤗
This was awesome. Thank you. By the way, water brushes are fantastic. They have a resorvoir that holds water. You could take 3 or 4 with you.

This is so lovely!! How do you film the paper while you're drawing??
Great video...
Awesome video
Another beautiful vlog! Thanks for sharing. I was wondering how long each sketch approximately takes you?

:O i'm using a pentel brush pen atm but that's water soluble. What brush pen do you use??

Wow you are so talented, wish u all the very best and success! Good things come to those who work hard and are passionate, God bless!
Thanks for your kind words! ☺️
How long do you typically spend on each sketch?
It takes about 20-30 minutes depending if I'm filming or not
I recently found your channel and it's so peaceful to watch your sketch travel vlogs. I have a question tho: why is it copyrighted to film the tour Eiffel?
Thank you so much :) I'm not actually sure about it, but I think it's only it's light installation at night since it belongs to the artist.
@@Kathensach so. Thank you
Which sketchbook is it and the size? love your videos btw
Thanks 😊 It‘s from Hahnemühle - the toned watercolour sketchbook in the size 14x14cm
