Moneypuck doesn't correctly measure how good the Jets are. There's 'high danger' shots, taken from the slot. Then, there's 'ultra danger' shots, when a high-danger location gets combined with an instant release. The Jets, I bet, lead the league in shot release speed. If Moneypuck were to consider this in their model, I'd pay more attention to it. Sure, Colorado had twice the shots, but they had less ultra dangerous shots. Georgiev didn't really have a chance, not all his fault. Score shoulda been 5-4 for the Jets, if both goalies played better.

GM Joe Sakic failed to address the goalie conundrum at the trade deadline. This team won the Cup two seasons ago and is no longer hungry. The Jets could be a team of destiny and if they can get by the Oilers/Canucks, they will represent the Western Conference in the Cup Final.
Sakic hasn't been GM for over a year ...... Georgie gets a shut out tonight, Jets get less than 22 shots on goal tonight.

If their attitude mirrors your own, the Avs may not be going back to Winnipeg until next year.

Meanwhile literally every amateur & professional analyst has said that goaltending is Av's greatest weakness and if Giorgiev continues to start, the Av's have little chance with a non-playoff exp backup, and a near non-existent 3rd string, meanwhile Jets have 4 goalie's in the chain fully capable & ready to play. The _backup_ is a Stanley Cup champion.
