我原来以为 “不料” 的意思是 “no material”，【不料】发现意思是 "unexpectedly"。 :-) The word 不料 can be confusing for learners, because we're initially taught that 料 means "material". Also, I think that 不料 is not used very often. Maybe 居然 is more common. 他居然拒绝了玛丽 = "He unexpectedly rejected Mary"
