I watched a documentary about the spanish flu decads ago and on this documentary it says that masks where one of the major factors in the deaths because of lung infections,so i never wore a mask during covid,am not a mug.
I went through security at Birmingham airport - About a thousand people squashed into the security area, only 2 belts open, massive queues, no ventilation, no masks, no hand gel, no nothing. It took over an hour to get through. Then we go to get on the plane - and we all have to wear masks...

I thought the whole point of wearing masks was to reduce the chance of you giving it to someone else, I can see if everyone wears them it could halp slow the transmission rate. I do think they must have worked or hordes of shop workers would have gone down with Covid, which didn't happen. Also if you remember the first lockdown was more or less inevitible as the R rate was very high and we had no vaccine at that point, we didn't know the death rate at that time it could have been colossal. Ofcourse if Boris had acted sooner we would have had only one lockdown as the bounceback would not have been nearly so big. I think you have to remember it was not known how bad it could be, it being an escaped lab virus.

I have a very large family we partied all through lockdown no one I know including people over 60 have died
I thought the whole point of wearing masks was to reduce the chance of you giving it to someone else, I can see if everyone wears them it could halp slow the transmission rate. I do think they must have worked or hordes of shop workers would have gone down with Covid, which didn't happen. Also if you remember the first lockdown was more or less inevitible as the R rate was very high and we had no vaccine at that point, we didn't know the death rate at that time it could have been colossal. Ofcourse if Boris had acted sooner we would have had only one lockdown as the bounceback would not have been nearly so big. I think you have to remember it was not known how bad it could be, it being an escaped lab virus.
