    Great review. Purchased a Curado (as an upgrade from a SF) and I am more than impressed with it. I mainly fish canals and this reel does everything I ask of it. Keep the reviews coming.

    given the fact that you have the calcutta bfs too, how do you compare it the daiwa air and the curado bfs?

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the alphas air dominates sub 3g , the calcutta definitely feels the most refined and solid of the three and the curado is a absolute work hoarse

    Good information, I fancy a Curado bfs from Aliexpress, just don’t want to get scammed, is it pretty safe to order from them ?

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin . I’ve not received any knock offs from them ,( I’ve had 5 reels off Ali ). A few other folk I know have ordered and not had any issues.😎

    Lowest I’ve thrown on the Curado BFS is 1.3g! Not a bad reel for pitching and flicking in streams

    The updated zephyr bfs reel is a good cheap option, even has a drag clicker which I love and my other is a curado bfs which even better but not worth 2x the money of the zephyr (modded with ceramic bearings) imo

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to hear . I have no experience with the Zephyr unfortunately so I can’t really compare it but I’ve only heard good things about it

    Whats the rod you would recommend for throwing a 1gram +?

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dude it depends on the waters you are fishing . I’d definitely suggest a solid tip stick though as they load really well on small lures . I generally use a 0.5-8g Tsurinoya Dexterity, Kuying also have the Teton 0.5-3g which is a cool stick in itself

      @@BFSJEDI I have the elf trout which is a brilliant rod for open waters. Can cast down to 1g with stock aldebaran. But need something shorter for tight streams. I think I’ll go for that trout master.

      The Zephyr is a good reel dude! Plastic frogs will be a little more difficult to cat than 2g jigs as they have more wind resistance 🦾😎

    Good choices but id suggest waiting for roro spool designed for slx and curado bfs this way you can cover all with one reel and 2 spool.
    Or you can get tatula sv 103 plus chameleon diy t32 spool and cover from 1-30 gr much more versatile.

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not always the spool it has a lot to do with the breaking system and magnets used ,( especially in shimano ). I’ve had the chameleon spool in a alphas and found it lacking in breaking power as the springs in the floating inductor are way to weak. However Roro are great spools so let’s see….. I don’t however believe the Tatula or Curado with upgraded spools will perform as well as the Alphas sub 2g, especially for flick casting and pitching at those weights. It’s hard to beat a KTF built spool that comes std in the alphas.

    • @InfinityFishing
      @InfinityFishing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BFSJEDI true that sub 2gr stock alphas air tw reallly shines.i had the chameleon spool modified for alphas air tw but not had a chance to test and compare with original spool.I ve tested alphas air for power finesse 6-10gr , casts amazing and can spool braid up to 90 meter I think quite enough for micro shore jigging .I’m planning to stay in 1-5 gr zone though I will buy slx bfs xg for power finesse as you suggested ( we don’t have curado bfs unfortunately)

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@InfinityFishing dude try get it off Ali express. There is a Avail microcast spool that fits the scorpion bfs ,( exact same platform as the Curado ). If the spools are the same diameter as the SLX it may fit. I have a spare spring from a alphas spool I will put into the chameleon and give it a test . The other option is to glue the inducter in the closed position and have a static inducter . Some swear by this . Let me know how you get on with the chameleon. I’m subscribing to your channel now 👌

      May I ask why? I also love the curado btw

    • @BFSJEDI
      @BFSJEDI  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me it depends . The Alphas is unbeatable sub 2g in tight spots , the cards stay low and accurate and don’t balloon. The Curado however sees more time on bigger bodies of water than any of my other bfs reels . I simply use each for different scenarios

      @@gobybryant1001 that fact the the alphas doesn’t come with a clicking drag was a huge negative for me, and also the curado feel much better built.
