- Now, I don’t fall in love easily, but I do fall in love quite often, with fictional people. So, in this video, I am going to share with you 5 fictional characters I am in love with; why I fell in love with them; and what our happily ever after lives would most certainly look like if we were to actually get together.
On this list: a play; a French classic; an English classic; a contemporary horror; and an American guilty pleasure.
I think it will be entertaining, and these characters all feature in great works of literature, so it’s a fun way to tell you about some books that I love and that I highly recommend. #booktube #books #reading

You mean to tell me you’ve never fallen in love with a horse thief? They get me every time.
😅I can see that coming in handy around my birthday, but in the long run, maybe not sustainable.
Me (internally): "What the heck is a *portapie*?!........(turn the page)....nevermind".
Fiction characters I'm In Love with:
Helena (Richard Swan's "Empire of the Wolf" trilogy.) Viv (Travis Baldree "Legends and Lattes")
Maeve (C.J. Leede "Maeve Fly"). Minare Koda (Hiroaki Samura "Wave Listen to Me")
Real life musical crush: Annie Haslam (Lead singer/ Renaissance ).
Edifice Complex. Chapter 16 on my "electronic device*. Physical copy arrived today. Not sure how much purchasing 2copies of the book will help financially (yes I'm flexing) . Alex at frank fiction had a live stream and "Alisa" mentioned she was reading your book too.
Great content. Don't forget the little people when you hit it big.
😁Wow, you're always mentioning intriguing books that I'd never heard of. I need to set up a seperate TBR for just the books you mention. I had a listen to Renaissance, (I'd not heard of them either.) Very cool. There's a live show of them from the '70s on YT which is excellent! How had I not heard of this band before!!? Thanks for helping me broaden my horizons.
What a cool idea for a video, Michael! I think Beth is a winner!

I need to read Jamaica Inn. Manon Lescaut is such an underrated book!
I'm thinking Jamaica Inn would work well on you (from what I surmise from your videos).
I'm in love with Marie Davenport from Cold Heaven by Brian Moore. Even though her selfish husband refuses to stay dead, she tenaciously fights for her right to exercise free will. It's a gorgeous struggle.
Nice one. I just read the synopsis on Goodreads. That's sounds intriguing. Thanks for getting that on my radar!

Thank you for the well wishes😁
What a fun video! I have to confess that the literary character I'm in love with is Father Karras from The Exorcist. Yeah, that probably explains a lot about what is wrong with me🤣
🤣😂Wow! You sure know how to pick 'em!
This reminded me of one of my very 1st literary crushes, which was the villain of Jamaica Inn. I need to be cut a lot of slack for that
since I was very young and foolish (12ish) at the time. There was this scene in a cave …
12 is young for reading Jamaica Inn. I'm happy to cut you slack😃
You fell for a character with a heart?!! I love the idea of this video. It has been awhile since I've fallen for a character, but I've been reading a lot of horror. Pretty sure most of my literature crushes have been women though, so I'm not sure if I want to BE them or be with them 🤷♀
Yeah, horror characters are hard to love. But they're fun to kill, and that's not nothing
Thanks!
I've never received a donnation before!😊I was confused by the logo and had to look up what it meant!🤣Thank you. This is a milestone.!
@@Michael_Wertenberg A tiny gratuity as thanks for your very enjoyable videos.

Fun video Michael! I need to read Jamaica Inn. I really need to think hard about turning this into a video! 😅
If you do make the video, make sure to include reaction shots from your wife after each selection😃

How are you doing mr Michael. I didn’t send comments to you from long time. Iam Arabic lady subscriber to several British and American TH-cam channels. Thank you for your wonderful cultural literary channel. Actually when we watched film titanic in 1997 with Arabic subtitles. Most of us thought love story between two young couples jack and rose is real , even old actress who was narrator of story is heroine rose . Since Christmas 2019 I began to subscribe to British American TH-cam channels I found out fictional characters. Iam my self struggling to became English teacher in kindergarten but unfortunately no jobs vacancies. As Arabic proverb mentioned reality more strange than imagination. I chose one of books you mentioned just main theme and author biography briefly here it’s Jamaica inn . Genre murder mystery . Plot summary follows when Mary yellan , woman who moves to stay at Jamaica inn with her aunt patience and uncle joss after death of her mother . She quickly finds out that inn is unsavory place . Mistrusted by locals, that her uncle is closely linked with group of suspicious men who appear to be smugglers.
Hi Khatoon. Would you believe that I have never seen Titanic!? I suppose I'm not much of a cinephile, to be honest.
No surprise, i knew there would be someone from a Nevill book. Beth is a b*tch😂 However, Banquet for the damned is brilliant, i loved it! My all time favorite character I'm still in love with is Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake vampire hunter series, even though I don't read them anymore.😬❤️😍🥰
I'm not familiar with Jean-Claude, but I'm sure he's a winner (although I'm skeptical about people with 2 names; seems kind of needy; but maybe he's working through it)

I am quite fond of Nefernefernefer,, do you know her? If not you should get acquainted. Generally I don't like to share but I'll make an exception this time.
Well, Egyptians are purported to love cats. So, I guess we have that in common. Good starting point. Thanks for the share!😁
@@Michael_Wertenberg It's not horror, but it's a fun read and it has a house of the dead.
"In love?" How does one fall in love with a character that does not exist? I read a great deal, and I have never fallen in love with a character. Maybe this has to do with the fact that there are those who easily fall in love and those of us who have such specific standards that we RARELY "fall in love." It tends to water down the concept of "love" when you can fall in love frequently (including non-existent characters).
You bring up a good point, it's true. I was only trying to find a unique (and hopefully entertaining) way to talk about some books I think are great and hopefully spread the joy and importance of reading.
