Kills definitely meet the criteria for what punk stood for. As more time passes they will only become a bigger n bigger influence on future bands without a doubt! Great great band!!

@davidian5 They look different to my eyes, but I think that he is using really heavy strings like 11's or 12's which have really great tones, deeper bass more rounded sound but are tougher to the guitar since they cause a lot more tension.
Alison Mosshart is not lead guitar. Jamie Hince in the back round is. Alison is the lead singer, but Jamie also sings in songs like No Wow and Future starts slow.
@t0mtreflip thats like comparing tables to carpet, they're entirely differnt as bands, music subjective so in that since they're uncomparable, The Kills have a dirty sound to thwem and the Killers have much more of a clean-cut sound, you're comparing them by name.... good job

The Kills have a minimalism post-punk approach while The Killers are really upbeat, catchy, and have synth-driven rock style. *sigh* Oh well, at least I know you have great taste in music my friend. =)

i cant see it very good actually, but is it possible that he uses strange strings? or maybe the first 3 strings (EAD) twice?? cause at 1:48 his GBE strings look as thick as his EAD`s !!..??? 3 different sized strings twice? not the normal set with 6 different gauged strings?? please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but that would explain a lot to me. i`ve seen them in berlin (postbahnhof) .but the sound there is always shitty. its the location.
@barbrastreyesand the guitar playing is not a joke. sure, what allison is playing is rather simple, but they are creative and make good shit. really, maybe you should just listen with an open mind and not be judgmental. listen to the song "future starts slow" sounds like theres multiple guitars but really, its just jamie.
