Watching this makes me shake my head in disbelief because *I live here.* I never realized how beautiful this city is until seeing tons of skyline shots with it. Just when I started to grow envious at cities in the States due to how beautiful they look, my mind snaps into a realization that I have *my own* - I think that's enough to make anyone proud proud tbh. This is the Manila I know because I grew up in Makati and always goes to BGC or Ayala as my hangout place. It still feels weird to see it this empty since I've always known my city as very crowded with working adults and strolling pedestrians.
Hopefully for the next decade the Philippines is much better.... Growing Economy, Higher GDP, more tourist, Cleaner Streets, Less Poverty, Better Transportation and most importantly Discipline. Can’t wait for a better and the best Philippines to grow and to be nurtured by the Filipinos and be known as one of the best in the World. Nikola if Manila can become the next Bangkok, I would go more often. Actual skytrain that is clean, works, and connected to many places, shopping centers that are clean,organized well, premier food choices, traffic that is, manageable, lastly air pollution that doesn’t cause asthma or illnesses.

From 50 million in the year 1960's the population reached 110 million in 2020.. But Right now we are still the 3rd richest in Southeast Asia in terms of GDP and 32nd in the world. Our Poverty rate dropped to 16% from 32% in the year 2008. And it is on the way to become a high income country in the next 2 years. Our Human Development index is Much higher than Indonesia, Vietnam, and other neighbouring countries. Therefore, its not a poor Country, its developing.

Two simple solution to beautify Metro Manila. 1.) Replace all jeepneys with low-floor buses 2.) make super wide sidewalks for walking. Trust me, a city built for people is so much better than a city built for cars.

I love green cities....it should always nature and concrete structures put together that is how people should interpret a progression in a city. Nature should not be taken for granted. See Japan even fruit trees and flowers along their streets its always prohibited to pick.
Been to Jakarta and that stretch of road traversing Subroto and Thamrin are great for sight seeing when you’re in your vehicle. Seems the layout of Sudirman was designed more for cars than pedestrians. Reminds me of the Dubai layout. To a lesser extent so is Ayala in Makati. BGC on the other hand is more built for people, promenades and green spaces and has a less car centric urban feel. That’s the way to go and I’m glad to see that the up and coming New Clark City is also headed in that same direction
our first president was a car maniac. The cities in Indonesia before, during the dutch colonial era were in fact really bicycle friendly. The president intended to modernize and thought that Developed country is the country that uses cars a lot. Wish my city transformed sometimes soon.

A hundred times better than Dubai. Dubai is impersonal, too many highways separating towns and cities. To go across Sheraton, facing my hotel, I had to take a taxi for two miles to go to another hotel just in front of mine?????Dubai has lovely skyscrapers, but the indifference is there for people to see. Cross the street? Imposssible A darn highway faces you most of the time. Impersonal indeed
Dubai was designed to be CAR-CENTRIC while BGC was designed to be more walkable and green..

@@stephenbrown2496 Vietnam provincial cities are better than Phi🇵🇭 provincial cities. look at Da Nang, Nha Trang compare to Davao or CDO even Bacolod or AngelesCity it looks behind. Maybe HCMC and Hanoi are inferior To Manila yet, their other cities are better than the Phi🇵🇭
