I think I'm starting to see a pattern here: pre-heat wave is an excuse for going to the Brattle, current heat wave is a excuse for the Brattle, post-heat wave is a excuse for the Brattle.
I'm currently reading through the Lankhmar books in the two hardcover volumes I have The Three of Swords and Swords' Masters which collect the first six books. I still need to hunt down that later volume but so far I'm loving my time with the series.
I certainly hope you also grabbed a hi-lighter during your moment of terror there Steve! You know...to make the most significant scholarly impression! lol. Funny funny story!
Once upon a time when i worked in a call centre a customer i got off the phone with said that people robbed all of the books from her house. Would you be upset if someone took all your books Steve, or would you simply start a new collection?

I have no idea what you’re talking about ... which seems like a good reason to go to the Brattle ...
Also, I’ve noticed, pre current and post snowstorms!
I laughed long and hard at your story of the moment of self-revelation while flying.
Steve, I like your Superman print!
I loved the movie The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I have never read the book I would love to read it.
The ghost and Mrs Muir should be a must read
Your story about Relic literally made me guffaw so loudly, my old dog jumped. So funny.
I’m definitely going to check out George Garrett now
Sounds like you're having Iowa like weather!
I loved the novel The Ghost & Mrs Muir! I found it at the library, I also loved the television show as a kid. I do need to watch the movie!
The Movie is great considering when it was made. I actually want to get a copy of both the book and the movie.

You are right Steve, Headliner is a UK firm. They publish mainly historical fiction.
Faferd is Leiber's Mary Sue. His family called him Faf!

Nice haul!
They made a 1997 movie out of Relic! A real gem 😆
Ha! I knew it! 😎
I have got all three of the Catton trilogy and would be up for reading all three books, as I am reading along and loving "Never Call Retreat".
If you’re lacking for books for GarbAugust,
might I recommend the novelization of
Jaws II?
!! Jaws 2 is pretty good!

Oh, Liz, don’t try to kiss up to Steve.
You’re better than that.
Try to show some class.
