Very interesting. Have glove and sleeve with shoulder cap and bands across body. Would be interesting to see how that gets put on. They re made in germany, I think , for my arm size.
Hi Rennie, so sorry for my delayed reply. Usually having a Lymphoedema Therapist order you a compression sleeve is preferred as they will know what compression class, fabric, size etc to order for you. I have a Private Facebook Group called 'The Compass Community' - a global online Breast Cancer Education & Support Network with weekly live education sessions and Q&A. There is much more interaction on this platform. Here is the link if you would like to join: facebook.com/groups/breastcancercompasscommunity
Thanks for this. I’m curious about your point that there is no evidence for preventative compression. I’ve just had a clearance and have been advised otherwise.
Thank you for your lovely feedback! Gloves and sleeves worn together can create a layer of double compression at the wrist and subsequently cause lymphatic backflow into the hand. It doesn't always occur but I do see it frequently. Jenn, I really like your advice on lymphedema on your videos. I am a petite and thin 71 year old who has mild lymphedema in my left arm above the elbow and into my left side under the armpit. I am having trouble finding the correct arm sleeve. My therapist recommended a Juzo which seemed to fit well however it is too long for my arm so at the wrist it caused several ridges from compression. I’ve also tried a Therafirm Ease which has a shorter length but is loose at the wrist. My arm length to wrist is 15-1/2”. Any recommendations?
Hi Ruth, thank you for watching the video. For me to be able to give advice on specific compression garments I would need to do a one-on-one assessment. I offer Telehealth appointments (National and International). If you're interested in an appointment please email me enquiries@thebreastcancerphysio
Hi, if you need to shrink your garment that means you need a different garment. Do you have a Lymphoedema therapist that you can access to discuss different compression sleeve options?
Very nice informative . Con you also guide me regarding size of sleeve as I am staying in India. Very nice method to wear a sleeve as I have great difficulty in wearing it.
Hi Parul, without measuring you in person it is quite difficult to fit a sleeve or suggest sizing. Do you have access to anyone in India that can fit you for a sleeve? If not perhaps we could do a virtual consultation with a member of your Medical Team? Jen x
@@TheBreastCancerPhysio Thanks . But there is no proper person or medical team who can guide me. I can measure it on my own and can send you.If possible you can guide me.
Hi Sarah, unfortunately at this point I don't use Kinesiotape for Lymphoedema. I haven't found it to be particularly effective. Have you used it and found it beneficial? Jen x
Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes you can just use the gloves without the slider bag but if you struggle to get the compression sleeve on you might want to consider purchasing a slider bag. Hi there, How do I use those techniques if the sleeve I have has a glove attached? 😟 My sleeve is a 30/40 flat knit all in one sleeve glove It currently takes two people to get it on my arm . Also important to know that the arm I have to put the sleeve on is my dominant arm and the one I use to get it on - is my non dominant hand. There must be a better way :-(
Very helpful!
