    I am planning on buying a TW200, preferably used, in the near future and discovered your channel while searching for TW reviews. What a great channel! I am working through watching all of your videos as time allows. I admire the fact that you don't let anything stop you from getting out there. I sometimes find myself making excuses for not doing something because I don't always have somebody to go with. Like you say, life is short, seize the moment. In that regard you have been an inspiration. I have also found your clothing advise useful. Keep up the good work. I know how much time you are putting into this. Just wanted you to know that it is appreciated.

    Great to see you and TRex again!
    Zippers - keep them clean and lubed and slide them slow. Chap stick is actually a pretty good lube. It's the sliders that wear out. If they are metal give them a little squeeze with pliars. It might get them working again.

    Hey, good to see you back, and goog review.
    The pants with the open zippers are easily repaired. Is is because the mouths of the sliders are opening up from prolonged use and no longer align the zipper sides properly. Push the slider to the fully open position, then take a slide jaw plier and place it towards the back of the slider and squeeze gently on either side until you can feel a little bit of resistance when you try to pull the slider. That should do it. Little bit at a time or you will jam the zip.
    Let me know if it works.

    Hey, just want to say thanks for being a great steward of the trails, clearing dangerous debris is fantastic! I have been riding for a couple years on the street, but have been offroading with my dad in a Jeep for years. Your reviews along with the Fortnine video convinced me to get offroad on a bike. I had been searching for months for a good deal on a TW, but they are very popular here in CO. I ended up with a DR650, and I kinda think that's the better choice for me personally. If you ever do a group ride/meet hit me up! I've barely scratched the surface of Rampart Range. Safe travels!

    • @TDubsKid
      @TDubsKid  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey no problem! thanks for stopping by. nice yeah 4 wheel drives are fun but off road bikes seem so more connected to the road in a way. yeah TW's seem to be hard to find here for some reason. that's a good bike! my friend just got an xr650, for sure! i'm riding rampart tomorrow late afternoon. thanks you as well

      I used my Kawasaki KLX250 to commute to the city, the hand guards used to take hits from car wing mirrors as I used to filter at speed. The strong hand guards that have the metal bar that gives full protection is worth it if you clip anything solid as most times you'll not snag and just take a glancing blow. Avoid flimsy hand guards.

    The Klim Dakar have a rear exhaust mesh hidden in a pleated fold. they are really good pants that keep your legs dry in 30" deep river crossings. However those front zipper vents are usally a 2 hand job because the mesh gets caught in the zipper.

    The Fed-ex truck just dropped off the In the boot, Mojave pant, and I would like to comment on the waist sizing and knee area. I wear a 36" Levi jean that is a bit tight, (but they stretch after being worn for a bit.), and the 36" Mojave pant is the same fit with the side adjustment straps let out all the way. Good, and I hope to lose a bit of weight. I just wanted you to know you can go try on some 550 Levi jeans for the fit you want, and Klim should match it well. I don't use knee braces, but my big Fox Titan pro knee protectors (with 2 pivot points around the knee cap. Probably as big as some knee braces) fit in there nicely. I will be careful with the pocket zippers. I don't see any washing instructions. It maybe possible that washing/drying effects the zippers, so I will let them air dry, and treat the zippers gingerly. There is a tag that says lifetime warranty, and another tag from the government saying they can cause cancer. BS, just our global communistic government attacking free enterprise again. I see them. I am very happy with the fit.

    Hey TDubsKid! Big fan. After a few years of dreaming, I might be getting my own TW200 early next year. Your videos have always been a great help.
    I was wondering if you'd consider making a video about all the gear you bring when you go adventuring - things like your bags, what's in them, gps, etc. I looked back to see if you have already made a video like that, but only found 1 video about your bag contents from 2015, unless I missed one. So perfect timing, I was looking at jacket & pants review and saw yours in the side bar - Hey I know that guy heh. Good review dude, let us know what Klim said. They make a long lasting quality product so not surprising when something wears out sometimes, but ya the zippers failing is bad. I see your still rocking the Troy Lees, If you get a chance to tell what is like to wear those all the times and how well they do and don't work that would be interesting- at least to me and the rest of the crunchy knee guys heh. Nice job tagging on the run at the end always fun to watch you out and about terrorizing Mr Rock 🦖

      haha nice! glad you found it at the right time, thanks! I will for sure, I just sent the pants out yesterday, yeah for sure, I think it was those flaps that caused them to wear out quick. yeah they are pretty good, just bulky, they don't sell them anymore though, I might move to a Ossur CTi, I already have one, just would need the other side, and a knee protector kit, they are much lighter and stronger with carbon fiber and not bulky at all, just expensive, they can really help from knee injuries but are not perfect. they are a bit uncomfortable at first but I got use to them. haha indeed

    hey, i hope you see this. I have beem very interested in tw200's for a while. and now that i have a job thats an hour away I have been considering getting one to save on gas milage annd also have fun. In a previous video about an 18 model you were saying that highway really isnt the move but then you also said for more speed you going go for higher, with the newer 2021 would it be possible to go more around 75 mph so i can commute for work? the 2021 also look awesome and id love to have it for riding around off road with friends

    • @TDubsKid
      @TDubsKid  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey, yeah you can gear it higher to help for speed but the bike is not meant for going 75, even the suspension is not really meant for that speed, and not really enough power, 55-60 seems to be the max I would ride it for any extended amount of time. you should really check out the new KTM 390 adventure, that would be perfect for what your looking for, should be good on gas too, only costs a little more than a TW. I might even get one as a second bike someday. www.ktm.com/en-us/models/travel/ktm-390-adventure2020.html

      My place of work moved 45 miles away (to a city). Although I have a large touring motorcycle (Yamaha FJR1300) I ended up doing 10,000 miles on my Kawasaki KLX250, lowered with road tyres. Got close to 90 mpg. Most of the travel was on a motorway and little 250cc was OK. 90 mile round trip. Faster speeds going to work (tailwind) and used to go slowly going home (into wind). Using the KLX250 cut my cost of commute by half. FJR1300 great but enjoyed the challenge of the smaller bike.

    • @ashmyrmidonsminions9271
      @ashmyrmidonsminions9271 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup KLX are good, nice suspensions,😎 KTM nice but pricey 🤑 but for what your saying- try looking at a DRZ400,👍 good enough on roads, good on trails, LOTS of support for them online and after market as well. You will really learn you motorcycle on that one.🔧(lots of mods, rock hard engines). You can keep it light for trails, TW style or Enduro, but also Pannier it up and make it an ADV as well for trips or carrying stuff to work. Look on the Tube, and get a feel for em, and they sell used pretty cheap too, new as well. Just another opinion - but Love my TDub heh and when I win the lottery = KTMs for everyone 🥳
