    I bought a used 30 inch Toro two seasons ago. It's a 2015 and was used commercially before, I've replaced some wear and tear parts but no major issues. I paid $350 from a local dealer, out of all of my mowers, larger Toro walk behind, residential zero turns, and home owner grade 21" mowers, the 30 inch Toro seems to have the best cut and I use it on my personal lawn. My lawn is smaller and has areas where the larger walk behind or even larger zero turn cannot go. I like the personal pace system of the Toro and have never used the commercial version, So I can't comment on that.
    Only issue I've had is the gas cap leaking some, dealer gave me a brand new one and I still had the same problem. The residential Toro 30 has a Toro brand engine and not a commercial like the Exmark has, but still uses a lot of the same parts. After using mine, I would buy another one brand new next time. Although I plan to rebrand my business in 2022 and step away from the red team for some orange. Honda makes some great engines, and I have an older commercial Honda that needs some new cables in storage. To many projects.

    Do you have to bag because of the wet weather in the PNW? If you don't use trailers anymore, do you have to pass on larger cleanup or mulch jobs or do you just use the truck bed for those?

      @harolddenton6031 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Amen. I bought one and got rid of it after using it for two years. It is way too heavy and killed you back if you try pulling it backwards and when turning around at the end of each row of grass you had cut. Simply way too heavy to not have front caster wheels for easier turning.

    I do like some of your points but the Honda is far from a light mower. I personally own one.

  • @andrewb2111
    @andrewb2111 ปีที่แล้ว

    The lightweight Honda is great for going around trees and landscape edges. It's horrible for keeping straight lines on a long stripe. I just picked up a Toro 30 Turfmaster HDX (with Kawasaki). Yes, it's heavy but the cut quality and side discharge make up for the shortfalls. The rear discharge Honda windrows the clippings so plan on an extra few gallons of fuel per week to blow the clumps out, and 10 minutes per lawn or more fixing the windrows. I like the Honda as a homeowner, I hate it as a landscaper.

    The 30 inch Exmark is built similar to the 22200, 22210, 22215 and 22225 Toro. Their transmissions are junk compared to almost any other. The motors vibrate loose and the back half part of the frame ends up being ruined and eventuallty needing replacement. You might want to buy two of them to keep one running. It is a poor choice in any avenue. The Honda will keep running long after the Exmark/Toro 30 litterally collapses

    That 30 is going to wear you out about the 8th house and up your going to get it done faster but if you stop and take a nice break your going to feel the tierness I don’t care who you are! But I just use my Honda and when it’s dry outside and I don’t have but like 6 or 7 house’s I take the 30 unless I have help!

What if it doesn't fit through the gates? The zero turn is faster if you're mowing a 1/2 acre or more. Cut quality is gonna depend on the blades regardless of the mower type.
