Mary Mack seems like a real life version of a Maria Bamford character.
She really respects good comedy craft and recognized the quality of Conan’s skills. Many comics would just be thinking about their own craft but she gave a lot of thought to what Conan does.
The comparisons to Maria Bamford are obvious but she is a great comic in her own right . I hope she gets a special soon.

Mary Mack and Charlie Berens are very similar in their style. Both use a northern Wisconsin/Minnesotan accent and deliver their humorous lines like just straight information.

The more I see of her, the more she reminds me of Robin Williams, for two reasons.
Some people still (amazingly to me) don't like Robin because there was so much nuance, you had to really relax to get all the entendres.
Second, as the interview shows, Mary is a student of her craft. And she takes it seriously because she cares about the people around her as much as herself.
She is not a victim.
She is a boredom assassin.

Alot of comedy is self laugher harm and loathing just put into words.
