Morning Ryan, it was a brilliant experience and already am working on day 5, which is where I am actually in Norway. I am loving reviewing all the footage while it is so fresh in my mind.
Wonderful to see you heading off on your travels and to catch a glimpse of Mrs BV and yourself as an inset. This should be great to watch over the next weeks - perhaps month or three 😉
Morning Peter, thank you. I am not sure how many videos there will be but there are a few 😀My wife fell ill a few days later with the flu and was in her bed for days but the family stepped in to look after her. it wss over a week after I returned that she felt her old self.
Morning Dave, thanks for the great support as usual. Hopefully the format of the series works and you get a real feel for what it was like to ride the bike in Europe.
Hello Alex, I too am a solo biker, only done UK trips up to now, I really like your patient easy going filming and commentary, lovely editing. I am hoping to go to Denmark/Norway next year on my recently purchased CB500X ( 6400 miles on it when I bought it) my last bike was a CBR 1000F which was 30 years ago! I decided on something smaller and easier to handle as I am now a lot older and retiring in a few years. Keep up the great work, sub added, ride safe
Morning Dave, thanks for the sub and appreciate the lovely feedback. I was also away from biking for over 30 years and loving every minute since i came back. The CB500x is an excellent bike to tour on and can highly recommend Norway, it such a stunning environment to enjoy the bike and the people are very friendly. There still a few more videos of the trip to come.
Morning Mick, yes indeed it was the easiest ride around the Edinburgh ring road, in fact it was fairly enjoyable. I got to say I had good fortune with the traffic for most of the tour, the exceptions being Bremen and Flensburg in Germany where the traffic was heavy.
Morning Alex, a good start to your journey, the A1 makes sense as you were heading to Newcastle for the ferry but I prefer the A68 when heading south. Coincidentaly i am watching this in a hotel room in Newcastle at the moment. The train down is not as good as riding down would be but at least I got away for a short break.
Morning Jim, my thinking as just to get there as missing the ferry would be disaster. But the A68 is way better. I have done Newcastle on the train a few times and you are spot on when you say the bike is better. Hopefully you will get your bike back asap.
Haha, dining at it's finest 🤣🤣🤣Aye it be a lot easier for you being so close to the south coast, well worth the effort matey and no excuse once that shoulder is sorted.
Just realised you meant the ones over the Forth, I been looking at footage with a big bridge and stupidly (since you not seen it haha) thought you were talking about that, senior moment lol.
Nice video, always very interested to see your route and the ferry information. Funnily enough my other half and I just went that route a couple of weeks ago, but we were off down to IWM Duxford and a few of the other war museums on that trip.
Morning BM, hopefully you managed to get past Edinburgh as easily I did, I got very lucky on this occasion. I hope you had a great time on your holiday.
Brilliant start to the tour Alex, I see you have the Android Auto up and running, what dongle are you using. I have mine installed under my seat and was curious as to there you have yours installed for the journey. I do like the look of the NT 1100 all packed up, and for sure the bike will love this type of riding. See you in the next one. Cheers
Morning Joe, thank you very much. I just used a cable but may yet get a dongle as the Tom Tom maybe be coming to end of life. I did not realise you put it under the seat, how did you manage to connect to the port?
@@blearyview2254 hello Alex I ran a cable from port to under seat. Had to cut the shroud but will be printing a better bespoke cover when I get a moment.
@@kimetogo Ah that makes sense, I thought you had done some wizardry to get another connection. I will have q look t your video again and may buy myself the same as your as it seems to work well.
@@blearyview2254 also have one in my car and works flawlessly there. And on the bike as long as you start your headset first then turn on bike works good with the odd time I have to turn bike on and off again but once connected very good never gone off once connected. A very minor thing which Is not an issue to me for the benefit it gives.
Brilliant 👏 have a safe journey. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the tour

A Great start to what looks like and epic journey, ride safe and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
Afternoon Paul, it was indeed a trip of a lifetime and was a very different trip to last year, experience makes a huge difference.
Great to see the journey underway and I'm looking forward to the rest as it unfolds! Thanks for sharing. Nick
Morning Nick, great to hear from you and hopefully we will be seeing your latest tour soon. It was a great trip and the 15 days went in so quick.

So great to see the episode number in the first part of the title so we can easily find the sequence.
Hello Brian, thanks for the great feedback, it is something I like too see in other folks videos and good to know it is of some use. 👍
Hi Alex..thank you...this is going to be fantastic. Bike looking good. Old dave

That looked like a fairly painless ride to the ferry Alex, decent weather and no trauma getting around Edinburgh. Good start 👍

That has to be the first time I've heard that road described as enjoyable! Looking forward to Norway, one of my favourite places I've never been to 😄
Morning Alex 😊 all ready to go 👍
Morning James, it was a very easy journey, in fact never seen the A1 so quiet with no road works.
