I just learned of his passing this morning, and like thousands of others, I feel like a member of the family has left us. Love you Pat, and thank you so much for the memories ❤️
I did his Italian wedding act at my 8th grade talent show in 1977. Came in 2nd...I was robbed! Met him in 78 at Mt Airy Lodge and was able to get a picture with Pat. Learned comedy from Pat Cooper, Jackie Gleason and Mel brooks. A little Sid Ceaser. Great times for America.
"You are not fucking Italian white. You are American. What the fuck is wrong with people and identificating themselves?"-Pat Cooper "Well it's not black but whites."-Patrice O'Neal "Ah you again with slavery cut the crap, slavery is done"-Pat Cooper
Met Pat Cooper years ago when he did his comedy act at Palumbo's in South Phila. He was fabulous and had the audience in stiches. He was the most down to earth man you would have have the pleasure to meet. Wonder person
Having had the privilege meeting Pat many times I truly have the greatest respect for him. I will always treasure the photograph I have of him and myself. He will always be in my heart. Angelina
Seeing him doing so well opposite Deniro, reminds me of how he ruined that relationship to ad to all of the others. He was talking to an extra who played the bartender and the guy was explaining that this was a non-speaking role and that he needed a speaking role to get into the union. Pat , unbeknownst to the Director and cast tell the kid to ask Deniro what kind of drink he wants. The actor says "No, it will wreck the shot and they'll be mad."...Pat tells him"Trust me on this kid and do what I say." The kid ruins that shot and he tells them that Pat told him to do it. He' burned every single bridge that they ever put in front of him over and over throughout his life. From Sinatra to Deniro this guy has ruined relationships with the biggest of them all..It's sad.
No he stayed real whats sad is that ur sayin its sad he didnt sell out u listen to him now he got no regrets he kept his self respect and had heart n still has heart
@@mikehoncho5764"Stayed real" is what you say when everything is fucked up . He says that he has no regrets because he has to . He was with Sinatra and ruined it, just like he did with ALL of his chances. After all of those years of fame he's a Hundred Thousandaire instead of the millionaire that his talent should have made him . He's one of those people who feels slighted with every relationship he ever had. Now use your head...What are the chances that it's everyone else who has a problem and not him? Think about it.
@@Valkonnen What would you propose he do instead? Suck up, and violate his integrity by being inauthentic? "Stayed real" is also what you say when you stay real. Because your identity matters more than money. "What are the chances everyone else has a problem and not him". In show business? It's pretty damn high. Plus there's the fact that all people have significant problems, and if someone is willing to be true to himself (regardless of what problems might be in himself), it is not his fault if others who merely ignore themselves (and ignore their flaws) do not deal with it.
@@immanuelcunt7296 I understand that in some cases, It COULD be everyone else, but not in his particular case. He has an old world stubbornness that one of my Italian Uncles had. He stopped talking to the family because of it, and I see the identical way in Pat Cooper. In this case he, has the opportunity to not only costar opposite Deniro, not once, but twice. He's on set and tells the guy playing the bartender, "Fuck them, say a line if you want!". This is low class imbecile who knows nothing about how ANY film set works. A "Fuck You" to the director who is giving you opportunity on THE top film is a bad idea. This isn't the first time he's had the , "How dare you TELL me!" attitude.
I'm only 40 years old, but Pat Cooper was the first stand up comic I ever saw in person. So you can imagine, it really hasnt peeked since. Pat set the bar too damn high for a comic virgin.
You forgot to include one of Pat Cooper's greatest film performances as Philadelphia pharmacist Harry Janelli in the 1982 film "Fighting Back." Do your homework....
Incredible father, he took care of his kids, he moved into the house across the street when their mother kicked him out, he gave em tens of thousands of dollars and gave em everything they ever needex
It kind of sucks having to tell everyone "No no no no see I'm really Italian" But im also a sell out for using an Irish name to make it...If I had a choice to be famous and change my name 100% I wouldnt do it....Im a piss poor broker with nothing and as Happy as can be...

Great edit! What a legend!!
Pasquale Caputo was over the house lots in the 60s. FUNNY MAN
Did he bring his son and daughter?

Pat is a pretty big dude. I didn't realize how tall he is.
As a Patrice O’Neal fan this guy is a legend
🌹🙏
RIP
WHO TOLD YOU THAT!?
So... You’re angry about something?

The IMPORTANT appearances, according to Pat are on his reel.
Have some respect.
Most of these highlights, so you say are just being introductions.
Is that the guy Schirripa hates for some fucking reason
That intro was so corny so moronic. Did Pat's kids made that?
Michael Caputo
Seems like a great comedian and entertainer. How was he as a father to his 2 children?

You a loser dude tell one thing he has more talent class and wealth then your ass will ever have lmao
He talked about being Italian all the time
He seems to be able to deliver a line, but he's just not funny.
