What I usually do with alternators is have them reconditioned.I have a repair shop near to me that will turn them round in a day or so. the same story with starter motors. The company has been going for years.
Good that the FRM module was not water damaged, no tide marks. Great fix. What interface and software combo, do you use to read/write the module. Thanks for another great video. Cheers
I starter as a mobile mechanic.. now got a permanent place. And being static is harder them people think. Theres a lot of overhead and such no one thinks about. But still youre right mate. Bieing mobile often sucks! And I wouldn't go back to it.
oh a bmw frm module never seen one of those go tits up 🤣🤣🤣🤣 back in the day used to do a bucket of them . usually after a flat battery or a jump start . to be fair last one i saw was probably before christmas buddy at work bimmer he came in saying his lights or windows don’t work . lucky my work colleague still has his prog stuff to hand mist of mine is in the loft or i gave it away when i got the factory based job and gave up the homers to much hassle now days for me at least
one of my customers was driving her ford focus from london to south wales on the m4 motorway,the charge light came on, she kept going hoping to get to her destination before deaking with it,the car stopped because the battery gave way, recovery man turned up and took her to a large garage, she got a courtesy car, the recovery man told the garage it was the alternator, when she collected the car they told her the battery was no good so they replaced it, the bill including a scan was 280 pounds, i changed the alternator when she came home. what a con
Those Auto Electro products are the biggest piece of junk I’ve ever had the misfortune of fitting with a massive return rate will not entertain them anymore.
Do you have any experience doing a XF X250 facelift BCM that loses central locking when battery has been disconnected- I am on about actually fixing the corrupt module, not doing an immobilisation reset which only lasts until the next loss of battery?
manufacturers source parts parts from wherever they get the best price,ive replaced genuine wiper motors with made in china on them,vw parts made in romainia, is it any wonder that they only last for the warranty period
Without knowing the year I would start by checking battery and if good try rotating engine with breaker bar . If that’s good check starter for voltage on B terminal and voltage drop. Then jump S terminal which is small terminal to B terminal. Start there
