It'd be really sick if the USFL ultimately became the NFL's farm squads. The NHL has the AHL, why can't the NFL do the same? It would give a lot of UDFAs some opportunities to prove themselves, it would give young players buried on rosters time to develop more than what they get during the regular season in the NFL. They could come of NFL regular season and go to USFL rosters and play in the spring. Ultimately it would be a win-win for both leagues, because it would really draw NFL fans. They would be able to watch the young guys develop into NFL caliber talents. Ageing journeymen who still wanna play could find homes in the USFL and help develop the raw talents, as well.
Gotta say, this was a fantastic ball game! Maulers took a little while to find their footing and eventually resulted to gambling all the money's in the 4th. We got the first 3-point attempt and success, a good, high scoring affair, massive defensive plays, Bryan Scott being a beast, etc. I'm loving this USFL, and am anxious to see more!
They're playing all the USFL games at that stadium for the season. Every game not going to have large crowds. Birmingham the home team in that location so of course they'll have good attendence.
Now this was good Football! Problem is,,as I have said before, Birmingham will not come out in large numbers for teams that are not theirs so the USFL is going to have terrible attendance figures.
They are planning to move the non Birmingham teams to their respective home cities over the next couple seasons, and are just trying to build fanbases, and minimize the losses they take from the struggles of lasting a 1st season, if they survive, and build big enough fanbases/demand for the teams to come home, they will get to it before long.
@@scottfarley3644 well, some people can become supportive of a home team for a Spring League that actually lived to play another season. The international broadcast for most of the games, and their social media outlets gives them SOMETHING to work with.

Nah this is a league geared toward the NFL for players to get experience to try to make it to the NFL, so making the catching rule the college version defeats that purpose.
Amen. And not only that.. but it's nice to have other leagues to develop eventual NFL talent. It's stupid that universities have been used as unpaid football farm leagues.
the nfl needs to back this league get these teams playing in there own citys to get it going playing at a netural site people might not even know footballs on right now NFL should use this league a farm league imo if there smart.
@@masonmcconnell9375 USFL is owned by Fox. This is why Fox is promoting this league as much as it can. It even had Fox on air personalities do the coin toss in a game. I doubt the NFL and Fox can partner on this league. Possible conflict of interest.

In the past the NFL had a spring league(NFL Europe with European Partners). TV networks then got contracts to air NFL Europe Games.
I probably won't see one game, but I will tell you this, imo, other football leagues can't compete with the NFL, so why don't they just join them? What I mean is, the NFL needs a minor league. I know we have college football and Bama in some years, seems like a minor league team of the NFL, but if any PROFESSIONAL leagues will ever succeed, they have to find a way to join the NFL.
Highlights are still too choppy, need more of each scoring drive, go from score or turnover to the other team being on the 10 and have no idea how they got there.
This league will fold just like all the others. You have to get some recognizable names before people will take an interest. These nobodies aren’t going to do it.
