The way you talk reminds me of my Mom. She talked just like you do when she explained sewing and quilting to me. I never quilted before but I just started a week ago on my first blocks. Ty for bringing back memories. I wish I could relearn from my Mom. But you're the closest I can get. ^-^"

Hi Melanie! Loving your quilting videos. I'm a complete beginner in the world of quilting so trying to absorb some information before making my first quilt and your videos are helping immensely! I've been trying to find decent videos of drunkards path squares but not having much luck. Have you done one by any chance?

It would be great if you could do a tutorial on a baby quilt start to finish in some form of video... Thanks and loved your video s

Melanie, thank you.... I am interested in adding a edge or wider border to a pre existing, already created quilt.. It's Queen size quilt... Its old and from my family.... I want to keep it and now use on my CA king size bed... Any suggestions?

Is there a possibility you could do a demo of how to ease the seam in as you're stitching? How do you do it without creating obvious puckers? Maybe in a fb live video? Thanks!! :)

When you’re going to do your top and bottom border which way do you measure, length or width? You measured length for side borders but I didn’t understand which to measure for the width, top and bottom borders. I would think you’d measure the width but I’m not sure.

If you could actually do this video and include all steps, like easing in the seam, and actually sewing on all borders, it would be helpful. Thx.

How do I have to calculate my borders? Do I have to add 1/4 of an inch to EVERY side of the border (e.g. if I wanted my border to show 3“ wide and 24“ long on the left and right of my quilttop, do I have to cut the strips 3,5 x 24,5 inches) or do I simply add 1/4“ to the sides, where the border strip is joined to the blocks?
The best video on this subject I could find, btw. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just finished my first blocks, joined them together, don’t want to end up with my borders being to wide or to narrow, since the quilt has tobe customized to a special furniture.

Hello Melanie: You seem to have explained this quite well. It sounds very straight forward except for one thing. My quilt is currently a queen size. Is it actually going to be possible to do your method with such a large quilt - first time making something quite so big and I am not sure on the logistics of it all. Any advice or other comments would be appreciated. Thank you,

What if you have 3" wider on one end than the other. Is there a way to ease/work those 3" in to the end that's short by 3?? You eased in an eighth with no problem.
