Ambassador Freeman may be the foremost US diplomat--and career diplomat--of the post WWII years. It's a terrific opportunity to hear his wise words on the Middle East.

Enjoyed every second of it. Both the host and the guest are fabulous. I'm subscribing to this church while I'm believing practicing Muslim. Truth if pure all come from a common source

What an outstanding interview with Ambassador Freeman. He's a goldmine of information delivered with such clarity. I hope to get to Boston tomorrow for the rally on the Common. We all need to do what we can in these ever more frightening times.

This evening’s discussion with Chas Freeman and all the guests was enlightening. What a pity all the good people are not in charge of our world.

3 of my favourite podcast contributers are Chaz Freeman, Ray McGovern and Dr Michael Hudson. Dr Hudson is eccentric and I suspect on the extremely high functioning spectrum. He worked on Wall St, is a pianist, economist snd anthropologist. Chaz reminds me of a very wise old Owl, looking at humanity, closing his eyes and shaking his head. Nima, the host of Dialogue Works is like a young version of Chaz. He is also a wise young owl. Ray is Asterix the Gaul sipping a fine whiskey in his Doire (Oak tree) house while keeping a keen eye on all developments.
However, one critique towards Ambassador Freeman includes his somewhat speedy answer to the question, why does America support Israel to the extent it does? He said it was purely for domestic purposes, the US has no interests in "West Asia" and he enhanced his answer with the rhetorical question, "Do we not respect other countries rights of self-determination? (To which I nearly buckled over laughing). Then toward the end of the discussion he went on to discuss how the US has pretty much banjaxed any country it has come into contact with. The US leaders had a vision, and that was about it! Their vision tragically collapsed into multiple episodes of carnage of which Ukraine is one of the latest casualties. The West is fully complicit if not wholly responsible for the Genocides, not just in Gaza, but Yemen, Sudan and Lord knows where else. I don't think the US government officials could spell self-determination, let alone understand what it means.
I think Ray might agree me and so would Dr Hudson, but once an Ambassador, always an Ambassador, and I salut Chaz for for his service and belief in his country. I believe in the American people, and I think Russia and China also believe in the American people. They probably pity the Israeli people who were born into a brainwashed cult society. I think even Iran recognises that which is why they have been so restrained, but for how long!?
I trust that Iran, Russia and China are all civilized countries and they can exercise restraint. What must they think of Tom Corton or Lindsay Graham, I shudder to think.
I think The Yahu is in a corner, which makes me wonder about Putin's story as a child when he confronted a rat. You don't corner a rat, ever, because they go for the neck.
When Sullivan said, before October 7 last year, "The Middle East has been quiet", I think it was a signal to start the carnage. When Putin said Russian Jews should get out of Israel, I wonder was it a signal to give Netanyahu an escape route? He has a choice, fight till the temple collapses, stop fighting and take the one way trip to jail, but did Putin give him another option to stop the war and provide a haven for him? Would that be possible? Or is it "bovine material" as Ray would say? I think the latter but if it stopped the war, I would be happy if Bibi was in a retirement complex on the Black Sea with his wife.

Naw, Israel is your military base, your rabid dog, and just the tip of Americas sins against humanity. The US won't be able to wash it's hands in the annals of history.

According to ProPublica, 4 of the top 10 governments lobbying in Washington are Arab, in terms of spending. The United Arab Emirates places first.

We are the problem. We keep voting for these AIPAC whores. They should not receive a single vote. They don't work for us but for a foreign power and doing it so in the open and in your face and no one can fain ignorance.

For the history lesson part, it would be worth mentioning how Israel created terror in Arab nations to get Arab jews to move to Israel. Ilan Pappe has a great book on it. (bombings in bagdad and in cairo among others)

This in depth view on conflict between Israel and west allies vs Palestinians (weak, humiliated, tortured, ,,,) who are denied by the world ... This view policy makers should carefully absorb and rethink their intimate moral compass.

What does that mean. Do you agree with Hitler then I think you need to think some more. Every people have many sides and many have a very irritating side. But from there to deal with that with Hitlers methods is bringing out the most evil side of one's own people. And what was the result, the destruction of Europe.
