No you are correct, as someone who studied politics and the legal process, companies literally fought for the right to be recognized as people in the Supreme Court no less. It was mostly for the “right” to make campaign contributions through superpacs with no cap. Look up one of the worst cases in the 2010’s: Citizen’s United vs FEC. So if they want the right to participate in politics through monetary influence I don’t think we’re crazy in expecting their “values” to be clear if they are the ones basically influencing legislation. I believe this was recorded the week of the surgery. This might be the last pod recorded pre surgery and the next one should be the first post surgery. If I calculated the dates correctly.

One of my favourite concerts ever was a Marina Diamandis concert at the Orpheum in the Twin Cities, just before the pandemic started. Mama turned out every single lyric, a PERFECT live voice, and the venue had INCREDIBLE balcony seating that was basically right on top of the stage and you could look down on the act with a perfect view. The baby gays and girls who wanted to be ridiculous had the main level and pit, and me and my (also) elderly gay friends could enjoy the beautiful acoustics and visuals up in the balcony COMFORTABLY SEATED. So incredible ^_^

YES TO SITTING AT CONCERTS!!! As a short person, I can’t even enjoy the general admission standing area because I can’t see over them, so I buy a ticket in the seated areas and then when everyone stands in the sitting area-STILL CANT SEE. Arghhh.

Hey Tracy, I had a really wondaful time visiting Trixie Motel yesterday, not to ramble but I'm kind of stuck living in a rural AZ area alone with hillbilly neighbors fiercer than the ones I dealt with growing up in WI, they tried to beat me up the other day so I booked a quick Airbnb to the Joshua Tree area (which turned out to be super scammy and wasn't the breath of fresh air I needed but I'm poor) while waiting I stopped into Palm Springs for the first time and went straight for the hotel. I know everyone kind of does these sad gal grabs but I mean this, the queen that was working yesterday (5/14) made me feel so safe and so human possibly more than I've ever felt in these almost 33 years, she even offered to let my dogs hang out while I got a drink at the bar but I have self confidence issues + high energy dogs and didn't want to inconvenience anyone. I felt so safe and so warm like never before, and so blessed to been able to be allowed in for a quick visit and was treated with such kindness that made the awful airbnb experience I later had made up for it, made the 7 hour drive worth it and picked up a clear lip gloss. I had so much fun that second I parked. I know poor but as soon as I can save up for doggy daycare and a day trip I'm going to book a night ASAP. Thanks for creating a safe space in real life, the pod has helped a lot too esp during this pandemic. As I got in my car and drove past the gift shop the queen working waved and holla'd at me to have a wonderful day and that really changed my mindset, I had chills from the kindness. I know this is very sappy and stuff but I'm really happy you're in this world, fellow UWM Alumni (I almost graduated but worked at Peck doing tix for the shows from 2011-2012). Maybe someday I can get out of this gross Arizona mining town and be a pool boy (or bus boy) at Trixie Motel, Palm Springs seems like a great place to live. Thank you, bye
