So informative thank you. Oboe players are usually very humble and I always complement them on how important their instrument is!
Scheherazade! One of my all time favorite orchestral pieces, love that melody
David Newman has made some great music he did the score for 1996 matilda movie he is a great composer
favorite woodwinds Oboe but I like bassoon as much, maybe because I'm a cellist and bassoon and cello are similar ( "Brothers from another mother"
:)
A trick : you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
@Jerome Maxim Definitely, I've been using flixzone for months myself =)
Oboe instrument is so beautiful it can put you in tears 😊🥺😊😇😇❤❤ ❤
It really is!
The player is amazing. I want to hire him!
3:31 Oboe (le Hautbois) B2 to G5 less violent in higher notes
and
3:40 English Horn (le Cor Anglais) E2 to B4
That instrument was beautiful and loud
4:51 Dvorak New World symphony
Thank yo uso much!
You're welcome!
I wonder why the oboist switched his bells for some of the clips and does the bell shape alter the tone of the instrument? Good video
Nice observation! I am the oboe player in the video and during the time the video was shot I was testing different bells and brought several instruments for the recording. The shape influences the projection of the sound especially in the higher register differently. I did not switch on purpose for different passages, I was just comparing the bells during the session and as a result different bells are visable in the cut.
@@Musiker211278 thank you for teaching me something new about the oboe.
A special thanks to the oboist.
He looks so much like Lee Mack I keep waiting for a joke between phrases.
Great tone.
Hold up. Where is the second octave key on his English Horn?! Is he playing an automatic system instrument?
oooo I love me some shostakovich
I would comment that flutter tounge is not very effective on oboe as the size of the opening of the reed makes it very difficult to produce a controled and audible effect.
multiphonics on reed instruments are very distrubing
1:44 is where Vitas got his melody and a meme was born
Hi! I'm an Oboist if u need one
Yo your english horn has a low Bb key your a hacker
Ikr. I wish all all English Horns had low Bb keys
4:09 The player in the video would benefit from sitting straighter, maybe by raising his music stand a bit. His air column must be quite constricted from the posture he has and it's most likely hindering his full potentiel as a player
Thank you for the feedback.
Cor Anglais rather than English Horn, is what I prefer it to be called, and I prefer it over the Oboe.
Me too
"Cor Anglais" is just "English horn" translated to French
