Night Film is one of the first of its type I ever read and I read it the week of Halloween years ago and had vivid lucid dreams. I don’t know what it was. Actually there’s a couple of things I can point to but obviously I won’t. It was just wild. I need to reread.
I love when Riley puts a new video up. Thank you so much Riley. I'm living for your content right now. Hope Fall is everything we all need and want it to be.
For the "similar to Jane Austen" prompt I'll never stop recommending A Most Agreeable Murder, which is a cozy mystery set in Regency times that is a bit of a parody of the genre but in this very heartfelt and loving way. There is a bit of rivals-to-lovers trope and it's funny and very over the top. I loved it and I think it deserves more hype 💗
So I am primarily a horror and lit fic reader, but my most anticipated release is A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid. It's a YA dark academia story, but both her previous books were 5 stars for me, so I'm hoping for another 5 star slay. CJ Cooke also put out a brilliant book last year in The Ghost Woods, an all-time favorite for me, and her next book A Haunting in the Arctic is coming out in October so I cannot wait.
My September TBR is so eclectic so we're embracing those chaotic vibes. Gwen and Art Are Not in Love is a fantastic queer Arthurian retelling that I'm excited to finish! :)
I AM OBSESSED with Jordan Peele and hadn't heard of Out There Screaming so thank you so much! Automatic pre-order. Also, as inspiration, I also started and stopped Emily Wilde the first time I read it and now it's one of my favorite books of the year! You have to be in the right mood for it haha
It's so fun to see some of the TBR battle books on here. :D Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Night Film (I really liked it) and Shades of Milk and Honey.
My September tbr is also my birthday TBR. So of course it is full of tomes. Tomes tomes tomes. 18 to be exact. There’s a few smaller ones but overall these are the 25 books I’m most excited to read right now. Especially for a birthday month!
I just started Spells for Forgetting. I'm thinking of it as my first "spooky season" selection. I already read "Emily Wilde's Enc...." and loved it. And I just added Shades of Milk and Honey to my TBR (also added After the Forest!) - thank you! I'm also excited to read In These Hallowed Halls, I think I already requested my local library purchase it. I need to check on that.
It always amazes me that people can make TBRs for months in advance. I always struggle to choose a new book when I finish one. I do want to read Destiny Disrupted: World History Through Islamic Eyes. At some point, I'd like to read books about various countries after WW2.
I am also very much looking forward to Iron Flame! Hopefully it won’t be a disappointment 😬 I read Ghost Talker by Mary Robinette Kwoal and it was so good!
I think I'll also be reading Shades of Milk and Honey. I keep thinking about it and I just have to read it, even if it isn't our book club pick >< Also, I really hope you like Emily Wilde's! 💙💙
These books scream fall. I hope you love them!
You should read the encyclopedia of fairies closer to winter. It definitely has more of winter than autumn vibe
Night Film is AMAZING
Spells for Forgetting felt like stepping into Autumn. It's perfect for fall.
my advice for spells for forgetting is think of as more small town mystery and not witchy!! i love a seaonl tbr11

Iron Flame and Two Twisted Crowns I can’t wait for!!!
I'm reading Black Queen and I think you will like it. It's a murder mystery takes place in Louisiana/Mississippi
I have an arc of Midnight is the Darkest Hour. I'm seriously so excited to read that one
Spell For Forgetting is a Fall vibes book, really atmospheric. I read Heartstone bc of you and loved it. I need to continue the series.
Thanks for the recs! And I love your makeup, it makes your eyes pop! :)
I am excited to read belladonna in the fall Good luck with your TBR.

PERFECT TIMING ❤ Fall is my favorite season and you’re my FAVORITE booktuber. Perfection!
I am so excited to check out Caitlin Starling's newest book as well, definitely an auto-buy horror author for me.

I love Emily Wilde and Spells for Forgetting
Does Emily Wilde have fall vibes?
@@paperbacksgalore More winter vibes than fall but very atmospheric.

I don’t know what it is about this video but you’re skin and hair have never looked better. Like, what’s in the water in Texas???
