She is beautiful no matter what but TBH she looked sick when she was that thin. That's what cancer patients look like because they can't keep food down
Her LH and FSH before was so low that there is a chance she was infertile before, one can speculate on that based on others but everyone is an individual She didn't do her Progesterone test before and after, which in 2019 is quite surprising a woman ignores and thinks all revolves around Estradiol levels. Anyway, she does what she wants with her body.
You could never understand it as you have probably never experienced disordered eating and the detrimental effects of it, yet i'm assuming you believe people whom gain abnormal amounts of muscle mass, consume an unnatural amount of protein and get down to below 10% fat mass have PLENTY of common sense.
@@scarlettalderwood6284 honestly i did not meant to insult anyone... but OK its 21st century so i could have assumed someone must feel as if i stepped on his feet... but to be clear: no i did not assume that. in fact i assume everyone who does high competitive sports knows that he is not - lets say - always nice to his own body... with bodybuilding being one of the more unhealthy sports out there. but here it comes: being really shredded sucks most of the time - as stated by greg. do you feel healthy when being in competitive state - (i do not know that) but i assume you are feeling like shit and you are one step short of eating your own mother sometimes - as stated by greg. do i understand why people cheer to a woman who eats 5000-6000 calories a day and gaining >40 pounds in a few weeks to FIGHT eating disorder ? no, absolutely not. i thing gaining 15 pounds slowly would also work without doing basically bingeeating and is much more healthy - as stated by greg. hence i wrote ... judge the facts with some common sense
@@MrFuffie Did not expect you to understand, especially as a man it is difficult to comprehend the immense amount of pressure woman receive regarding social standards both appearance wise, and in other aspects, however that is another matter. People are praising her as she is finally honouring her body and hunger after years of starvation, and are supporting her as they know there are uninformed critiques out there - such as yourself - whom do not understand the difficulty in letting your body rest at its natural set point -especially after being so muscular and health obsessed- knowing so many people will judge her natural body. She did not force herself to eat 5000 calories, that is how much food her body needed to recover after being in starvation mode for several years, so it is understandable that her body would quickly want to gain weight and store energy incase it experiences another phase of starvation. She also did not choose to gain 35** lbs in a couple months, her body with an increased mental and physical appetite. In spite of what you may think, this method has clearly worked for her - the method of satiating her hunger, no matter how much food that is - and she is now healthy and has removed food from her mental pedestal. If she was experiencing extreme hunger - which is indeed a medical term whom many of my patients have experience - in the way that she way, suppressing and attempting to control and tame her hunger in the early stages of her recovery would have only prolonged and increased her mental appetite, and once she had restored the weight she would have still had these thoughts which you cannot repress no matter how much therapy you undergo. So to conclude my response, people praise Stephanie as she is helping set an example - of not eating a lot of food, nor is she telling people to do so - but more so showing people its okay to let your body rest at its natural set point, be healthy AND eat, exercise and just live your life normally, without being so physique obsessed.
Her 2019 “the year I gained weight” was somehow in my recommendations and I watched that video. Then I watched a few other videos. Whatever she’s doing she’s getting views that’s for sure. I feel I watched enough to believe that her real problem was equally caused by eating too few calories AND by the types of food she was eating. Watching one of her gluttonous “cheat day” videos (I know these days were before going “all in”) convinced me she’s addicted to processed carbs and sugar. And while she’s eating a lot of healthy food now that she’s “all in” her sugar consumption is still messing with her appetite. She says she eats 80% Whole Foods / 20% processed junk food. This sounds sensible, except when she started off eating 5000 calories a day, that is 1000 calories of processed junk. If she removed that obvious junk (donuts, cookies, etc.) she could possibly consume fewer calories and feel less hungry. I remember watching one of her “what I eat in a day” all in videos and most of the food seemed healthy but then at the end she had to get out a pumpkin spice off brand Oreo cookie. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot however 1. We don’t know exactly how many she ate 2. She had a whole box in her house so we can assume she was eating them every day and 3. She didn’t consider including her water consumption in this video. Sometimes people mistake thirst for hunger. You can’t tell me at the end of the day she was hungry for that cookie. She wanted that cookie. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, except she said the process was about not feeling hungry. After all she ate that day, I find it hard to believe she still felt hungry even with working out. Yes she works out more than the average person but she’s not hiking the Appellation trail, walking 20 miles a day. But even if she still felt hungry, refined sugar was the last thing she should have been eating. I don’t have to be a nutritionist (although I think I missed my calling and should have been one) or a doctor to know that her sugar addiction is the real culprit.
Hello Greg. I am a triple ABIM board certified MD. I am also a lifter. I disagree with anabolic abuse outside HRT. However your diet and exercise recommendations are accurate and greatly appreciated. My question is what do you think about Jim Stoppani? Guy claims that he maintains 4% body fat year round. I am sick and tired of this these “phd’s” making BS claims and promote their supplement lines. Again, what are your thoughts?
hope she ends up happy, I did take something valuable to me when you said if your not hungry in the morning than your eating to much...that has been the case for me lately, lots of lifting and started up jogging , eating to much at night. I miss being hungry in the morning, I need to tweak the last couple months. Thanks Greg, hearing something I should know helps.
I guess at the end of the day ... you can never 100% sure who is always gonna be there for you...so living or be in a physique that pleases other people is not gonna be a solution.. Be in a physique that makes yourself happy when you re lookin in the mirror alone is what's really important
All Steph did was do a post contest Binge but she tried to put a positive spin on it. I don't watch her but even so, I've still heard her make several comments where she didn't like how she looked in her videos after going "all in". What I don't like is in the pursuit of being "ultra genuine and real" she's even more fake than before. She's pretending to be happy with her new body when in all reality you know she's uncomfortable with it. This whole "all in" mentality is even unhealthier than just bingeing, accepting what you did, and trying to eat normal from there. I don't think she looks bad necessarily and if she were happy with the outcome of all this, that's cool. However, I don't think she IS completely happy with it. Her hunger is now reduced, her calories have come back down, and she's likely going to just return to her bodyweight set point. So, I guess it doesn't really matter. Whether you binge or slowly reverse diet, the end result is typically eventually the same. There's nothing wrong with just accepting that you don't like your eating habits and changing them rather than pretend to be happy bingeing and call it going "all in". Just seems really ingenuine and sounds like just another version of an eating disorder.
@@johnperson6404 giving way too much attention to a person who is def not bringing anything to the table. She wears more makeup daily than most drag queens and obviously doesnt know shit about training.
@@gregdoucette I'm not saying she literally just competed and decided to binge. I'm saying it's comparable in the fact that she dieted down to a low level of bodyfat on low calories and then binged.
I went half in a couple months ago i tried staying 8% all the time and working construction 10 hours a day and working out 3 hours a day i was tired and cramping all the time. I figured im not a body builder so fuck abs i went up to 12-13% and that jump made me feel so much better i still have lines of my abs, my strength and energy went through the roof.
Thats definitly the way to go. No need for constant shredded abs. Dont need to be a buffon either. Not feeling tired and staying relatively slim is the total best :)
I dont skip ads, clck on all the ad links, let the whole video play(sometimes without paying attention), and sometimes have ur videos play on the background while i study(no kidding). I want you to get to a mil ASAP
Dieting is just like an ultra-marathon, there's ups and downs. You're miserable and questioning all of existence and then there's moments where you couldn't imagine yourself doing anything else. It's a LONG haul if you want it to last forever and sometimes, I catch myself standing there and thinking, "What the hell is the matter with me?" As soon as that question comes out, I know I'm headed into the right place.
I'm fairly certain that after this she will make more content about coming back down and finding her ideal body weight and conditioning blah blah blah. This is definitely not the end 😂 actually really like these two so I'm not hating just stating the obvious progression of things
You raise a lot of good points. When things get too much I make sure I get something in diet wise, workout wise and allow a bit of taking it easy. There's compromise for sure.
She's clearly and blatantly uncomfortable with the way she looks and feels but she's trying to convince herself day after day that she's okay with it. She seriously needs help
BED involves a lot of negative emotions and those with BED cannot control their eating, they eat until they get so full and sick while going all in is eating until satiation.
@@adrianb5352 Hmm perhaps, but i'm assuming the people whom consume unnatural amounts of protein, work themselves out till a point of hormone imbalance, gain abnormal amounts of muscle mass and label it a career are?
When are you gonna start filming workout videos? I know u have many from before but would love to see some new ones with the quality you have now! best regards, - Idiot
I went half in years ago because i was sick of being hungry so often. I'm currently somewhere between 13-19% bodyfat and i feel way healthier. My physique is pretty good and i have some veins popping out in my arms and calves but of course if i would be leaner i would look even better. But for me, it's just not worth it. Now i can eat pretty much whatever i want and maintain this bodyfat percentage.

LOOK, SIR, MR. GREGGY DOUCETTE, the only thing I wanted to learn from this video is.... the white checkered Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Damier Azur Canvas bag on the chair, is it real?
There are SO MANY THINGS I LOVE about this video that it would take up too much space to delineate them. Just: THANK YOU! Advice: in the future, place your story about going through Stephanie's "all in approach" closer to your initial comment about knowing what she went through for better story continuity and to make your point more compelling.
As far as I understand the facts, Buttermore lost her period back in 2014 when she did a physique competition and went on a crash diet of 800 calories a day and lost 20lbs in 6 weeks (a wholly unwise way to go about contest prep) reducing her body weight to 106lbs, which is very unhealthy. My assessment of her health is based on what I see subsequent to that point in light of her body weight/composition, her videos featuring her exercise program and her “everything I eat in a day” uploads. Her exercise - especially her cardio - was quite moderate. And all the eating videos reveal a very nicely balanced nutrition plan replete with huge overfeeds every 6-8 weeks. Now, it could very well be that what she presents in these videos doesn’t reflect what she actually does, which would make more sense of her choice to go “all in” on account of irrepressible hunger. But I have reason to seriously doubt it. Based on what she publishes to her channel, both her exercise and nutrition program are perfectly balanced. And given her height and bone structure, 122lbs-125lbs is hardly an unhealthy, unsustainable weight. This is where she found herself, I believe, just prior to going “all in.” That’s just shy of 20lbs ABOVE her competing weight, which is perfect. I stay lean year round. If I lost 20lbs at my current weight, I’d be hospitalized. Her story doesn’t add up. It’s a post hoc rationalization of a binge disorder she developed from flirting with and consuming enormous amounts of junk food in one sitting. But that is a lot less sexy story, which is why I believe she’s edited it and cobbled parts together from the timeline of events to make it seem like the loss of her period in 2014 (when she weighed 106lbs) had relevance to her 2020 decision to go “all in” (when she weighed 125lbs). This defies her own video wherein she juxtaposed photos representing 106lbs and 125lbs captioning that the former represented the loss of her period, and the latter the reacquisition thereof owing to the addition of daily calories (from 800 to 2500). The video was published 11 months ago - well before she went “all in.” Plus, the refrain of being perennially hungry goes back to childhood and high school when she was at a higher set point in her weight. The story doesn’t hold together at any point. My suspicion is that she psychologically fatigued, that her fascination for - and extreme consumption of - hyper-caloric/hyper-palatable junk food won out. She simply collapsed under the cumulative weight of good old-fashion temptation. Now that her fat cells are nice and full, she’s got a handle on it, which is great. It’s fashionable these days to blithely treat massive “cheat days” like a fun pastime. But for every person who can stuff themselves with sweets and hop back on a diet the next day, there are 20 who will develop a binge eating disorder. Same for binge drinking and recreational drugs. For many it’s like playing with fire. And people with binge disorder seek out TH-cam stations like Buttermore’s as a trigger for their destructive behavior. This is another reason why I find Buttermore so egregiously irresponsible and unfit to be an influencer. Her story is a cautionary tale in what happens when you don’t do it right. From crash diets, binge eating junk food, going “all in” and putting on 40lbs in a couple of months, she is an object lesson in *how not to do it.* And that’s why, as a professional in the field, I have a major problem with her being a fitness influencer. She has no business guiding others in these matters, much less monetizing her inexperience. She’s not popular for her expertise (which is what a true influencer should be recognized for), but because she represents the wholly dysfunctional and erroneous way so many young women go about fitness and nutrition. Read the comments section of her page; people love Buttermore because she makes all the same fitness mistakes they make. She accrues kudos for being honest and forthright - not regarding her expertise - but regarding her poor choices she makes. This is upside down. And it creates a very unhealthy atmosphere because people are looking up to a women who is just as lost as they - albeit in a much glossier, seemingly confident way. It’s the blind leading the blind. Don’t let the TH-cam persona fool you. Buttermore is in a world of hurt and confusion right now. No one goes from being a model of the physical ideal to gaining 40lbs in a couple of months and bounces right back psychologically. I think she will find a healthy balance in the next couple of years. I want the best for her. Despite the smiley face, she’s been through hell.
Dude you looked super great when you went all in. I think the "swole" look is far more pleasing on the eyes than the lower than 10 percent body fat look.
I'm pretty sure, by listening to the woman speak, that she was "going al"l in to fix her hunger/metabolism/hormonal issues form aggressive dieting, and then get back to figuring out a new diet etc. She was not, "giving up."

Anyway, she does what she wants with her body.
I swear to god, this is Gilbert Gottfried if he was a bodybuilder!
Yes!!!!!
finally someone with common sense! i could never understand the praise she gets
You could never understand it as you have probably never experienced disordered eating and the detrimental effects of it, yet i'm assuming you believe people whom gain abnormal amounts of muscle mass, consume an unnatural amount of protein and get down to below 10% fat mass have PLENTY of common sense.
@@scarlettalderwood6284 honestly i did not meant to insult anyone... but OK its 21st century so i could have assumed someone must feel as if i stepped on his feet...
but to be clear: no i did not assume that. in fact i assume everyone who does high competitive sports knows that he is not - lets say - always nice to his own body... with bodybuilding being one of the more unhealthy sports out there.
but here it comes:
being really shredded sucks most of the time - as stated by greg.
do you feel healthy when being in competitive state - (i do not know that) but i assume you are feeling like shit and you are one step short of eating your own mother sometimes - as stated by greg.
do i understand why people cheer to a woman who eats 5000-6000 calories a day and gaining >40 pounds in a few weeks to FIGHT eating disorder ? no, absolutely not. i thing gaining 15 pounds slowly would also work without doing basically bingeeating and is much more healthy - as stated by greg.
hence i wrote ... judge the facts with some common sense
Scarlett Alderwood way to play defense for your fellow woman...just next time don’t comment out of an emotional response.

Greg: I’m NOT A MARINE BIOLOGIST
No one. An maintain 4% fat year round without extreme suffering and danger to their health. I hit 4% once in my life. Was a nightmare.
Ok i admit it love this guy.
I thought the "going all in" was a way of sorting out a developing eating disorder.
By replacing it with the opposite side of the extreme XD
Donny van der Meij THIS.
I love how this dudes voice sounds like he is whining the whole time it’s hilarious
hope she ends up happy, I did take something valuable to me when you said if your not hungry in the morning than your eating to much...that has been the case for me lately, lots of lifting and started up jogging , eating to much at night.
Lol that “#4 top secret” had me cracking up hard

I’ve been binge watching your content for the last week, incredibly entertaining and informative. Thanks doc
Relax dude, shes after the money and the views only
TooCrankD SnipR what makes you think I’m not relaxed? I just gave my opinion. 😂
@@johnperson6404 giving way too much attention to a person who is def not bringing anything to the table. She wears more makeup daily than most drag queens and obviously doesnt know shit about training.
Post contest binge. She has not competed for 5 yrs. how is this a post contest binge.
Not feeling tired and staying relatively slim is the total best :)
at 12% your abs are still visible so if yours are not then you are not 12%..a true 12% has undeniably most of the time significant ab definition
I dont skip ads, clck on all the ad links, let the whole video play(sometimes without paying attention), and sometimes have ur videos play on the background while i study(no kidding). I want you to get to a mil ASAP
Dr Gregs updated E-Book diet breakdown;
Monday - Cheese sticks and pizza
Tuesday - Taco tuesday
Wednesday - Wings and beer
Thursday - Wine and cheese
Friday - Cocaine, molly and gatorade
Saturday - Ketamine, LSD and pizza
Sunday - Rest day
Rest day at the hospital.
This is definitely not the end 😂 actually really like these two so I'm not hating just stating the obvious progression of things
...his sarcasm honestly sounds actually good. Like him saying ” be happy, eat to enjoy”. Thats a pretty healthy mental view

There isnt one
BED involves a lot of negative emotions and those with BED cannot control their eating, they eat until they get so full and sick while going all in is eating until satiation.
