"A stitch in time saves nine" means that you should take care of your problems while they are small before they get out of hand. The "nine" is nine stitches, and the example the proverb refers to is a small tear in a piece of clothing. Really inspirational stuff I'll be using in my own running of Witchlight. Finn/Sam Elliott was hysterical 🤣! Though the "or whatever you identify as", was a "bless your heart" kind of moment. Really great stuff, awesome player chemistry, very entertaining.
Clicked onto here a few days after reading through the whole campaign book since I'm eager to learn more and get an idea of how others have run the campaign, and I am loving this! Hi! I was introduced to your game by my partner. She got the module and was so excited to find you guys running it. So I am stoked to have her run this even more after seeing how much fun you all had. Christa you did an amazing job with costumes and your leonin. Everyone looked so good! Cant wait to see the rest of your videos now.
This is the first full module I'll be DMing (I DM'd Frozen Sick, then a little bit of homebrew). I'm excited, but a bit overwhelmed. Watching yall helped make this a bit more approachable for me. So many good DM ideas I can use to easily give the carnival the right flair. Y'all are so fun to watch, too! AND THOSE COSTUMES! Y'all look like you're having so much fun playing together. Keep up the good work, and stay woke 😉
Thanks! I really appreciate it! We also do a How to Run Chapter X series you should check out. Some of our ideas are not half bad! Others... eh. Good luck with your game. I'm sure it'll go great. If you ever need advice or want to talk it through, feel free to join our Patreon.
This is the video that first got me to DM. I had went looking for review...found you guys and within an hour i bought the book. Were just now reaching hag 2. (Spoilers) and its been wonderful so thank you all! Also because of Niico i now have a kitsadria character myself! So this is an influential playthrough lol
Just found this, and it’s great. Peaches made me laugh. I saw them years back in Knoxville. However, I haven’t played D&D in ages, and I have to play vicariously through others. Very much enjoyed. Would recommend.
Oh my, I'm a lil late to start watching this series, but, wow, I'm loving it, so much thought put into it... (I was looking for a stream of this adventure since I'm going to narrate it in a couple of weeks and it'll be the first pre made module I ever narrate...) Anyway, keep doing the good job :)
Thank you! We really love hearing comments like this. Also, congrats on becoming a DM! I'm sure you'll do fine! This adventure is one of the best I've ever seen from them and I think it's a great place to start.
@@DorkTales soo, I've been dming for 10 years already, but never tried a real published adventure, before... I just dmed in my homebrew scenario actually. I'm kinda freaking out with all of that (even more the huge amount of npcs on the carnival part), but it's a good freak out
Took me a while to watch this, but having just read the adventure thought I'd give it a go. Good stuff, once you guys had settled into the characters. It's a tricky chapter to immerse in, so think things will get easier. Superb costumes too!
@@DorkTales Absolutely thanks! Sanctum Shadow Safe House are those two on monument studios couldn't find them either! Srory for asking. Love the show, new to the channel haha but love it going through your witchlight series! Already using determination as sort of homebrew myself, you are such a great dm
@@valkondarvalakev6377 Thank you so much! So, I'm not sure if Monument Studios puts their stuff on TH-cam for free, but if you're in a place to pay for music you can get their All In One pack for like... $40? Something like that. It was a really worthwhile investment for us as a channel, but potentially expensive for people running casual games at home who can just put on the soundtrack to whatever they have access to. Thank you for the love! I hope you stick with us
You got it! That's their level. The D is something we use for our Twitch games called Determination. It's like Inspiration but instead of Advantage it grants your Proficiency bonus to any roll.
@@DorkTales as of now 2 characters have died haha. The first in the hall of illusions by the thieves of the hourglass coven. (And he picked a witchlight hand background and knew not to fuck with them but go involved). The second by agdon and his men at the tollway. My guys are very quick to violence and this was not the right campaign for them hahaha. But they did drop a house on top of a witch, wizard of oz style so that was cool.
It kind of is! My advice for this is to get a sense of each of the attractions and how their plots intertwine (mostly with just a few NPCs) and then just wing it. Let the players go to each one as they see fit. The big thing is to just have a rough idea of either what each attraction does or note where to look it up. If you nail the atmosphere, I guarantee this will cover up any mistakes you make as part of the joyful chaos of a carnival! You've got this! And yes: I totally panicked before my first episode. Go check our How To Run Chapter One video if you haven't already!
Duck people? We had one of those last time I ran Glorantha, a couple of years ago. I bet someone has done a D&D conversion of them. Durulz is the official name, maybe better for search results.
Sorry for the late reply Ally! Everything is listed in the show notes, but a lot of it is tabletopaudio.com. I also use a lot of things from Monument Studios. If you have specific tracks you want to know for your own game, drop me a timestamp and I'll tell you what's playing then. Thanks for watching!
@@DorkTales Completly missed this when I first went through the book. I am actually really glad to be able to watch your playthrough before I try to run it myself.
@@DorkTales Oh thank you for asking. We actually only just had our session 0 with us just finishing up my friends Curse of Strahd campaign. So I have still been using your game as a template for what to be prepared for and possibly expect. Still loving your game and looking forward to see how the players react to some of the sprises that are still ahead of them.
How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck would chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would, if a woodchuck would chuck wood... This is much more difficult to say than at first appearance. This is not only a tongue twister, but it plays a trick on your mind, and is the reason why some people will accidentally switch some the instances of "would" with "could", when there is only a singular instance of the word "could". This because you are saying "woodchuck" and "would chuck" nearly back to back and it gets your tongue to stumble into the word "could". By the way, there's three different versions of the Moses Supposes His Toeses Are Roses. The original recorded in 1888 is as follows: Moses supposes his toeses are roses; Moses supposes erroneously. For nobody's toeses are roses or posies, As Moses supposes his toeses to be. The second recored in 1895 is as follows: If Moses supposes his toeses are roses, Then Moses supposes erroneously; For nobody's toeses are posies or roses, As Moses supposes his toeses to be. And the third was recorded in 1944 and used in Singin in the Rain in 1952 is as follows: Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously. For Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses, as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
I am looking forward to watching the rest of this, but the DM shouting at the beginning is a little off-putting. You can indicate that the character is speaking in a loud voice without actually shouting into your mic.
This is physically painful to watch. Kelly is one of the best DMs I've ever seen. He tries so hard to engage these awful, recalcitrant players, but they simply refuse to do much more than roll dice. I feel sorry for the guy.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I'm grateful for the praise but a bit confused about the negative sentiment about my players. Honestly, I don't see a problem with them here. In fact, I adored running for them! If anything, they were perhaps a little more shy than usual since it was the first session and they were feeling out their characters, but I personally think they brought a lot of wonderful roleplaying to the table. I hope you stick with the episode or series long enough to let them change your mind.
I had the opposite impression. I liked the players, but I thought the DM was taking over the game a bit too much. He does great voices and knows what he is doing, but I kept wishing he would encourage the players to take charge of the game. I don't mean to be negative, just some feedback
What do you mean you do not know any juan, here i am 🤣🤣. This is so good to rewatch, i enjoyed every second of this game and all the costumes. Cupcakes for days by the way 🧁🧁🧁
I'd be lyin' if I said that Christa's costume isn't the best I've ever seen in a stream.
AHHH. He did it!
The second I saw the leonin I spat out the water I was drinking. Amazing costumes!

We also do a How to Run Chapter X series you should check out. Some of our ideas are not half bad! Others... eh. Good luck with your game. I'm sure it'll go great. If you ever need advice or want to talk it through, feel free to join our Patreon.
Woooooo! Amazing costumes!
agreed. cosplay to the max. So good.
Thank you! Blame Christa for mine, Christine's, and Robin's. And Her own.
@@ShiningOak Thanks Grant!
You guys! That was great! I'm running this tonight and you were all fantastic inspiration. ❤
Thanks! Hope it went well!
@@DorkTales They were level 2 when we started so I had to double the custard damage...the poor npcs didn't stand a chance.
Didn’t managed to see everything live, so here I am!
Welcome!
Puns, random songs, and bad jokes oh my.🤣🤣🤣
We try
You un-c-worded thac0! I was a little worried about him after the session 0 coulrophobia discussion
Amazing job y'all! This was so fun to watch I look forward to the rest of the campaign :)
1:28:00 Unpuch Man is basically a Monk the Way of Mercy!
UNPUNCH
It's started! So much looking forward to this!
We are too! This is going to be so much fun!
Never been so early. Looking forward to follow this adventure through the book is amazing
Isn't it though? I'm really excited to be running it!
I'm kinda freaking out with all of that (even more the huge amount of npcs on the carnival part), but it's a good freak out
new viewer...annnd hooked. But DAMN you....now I have to watch RotFM
Thanks Scott! Sorry for the late reply. I hope we kept you with this and Rime
Took me a while to watch this, but having just read the adventure thought I'd give it a go.
Good stuff, once you guys had settled into the characters. It's a tricky chapter to immerse in, so think things will get easier.
Superb costumes too!
waits patiently for Unpunch Man one shot

@@DorkTales cue sick intro
I laughed way too hard at the "silly goose" pun... XD
Thanks! We're all about puns here.
I love how many references where made during this.
Honestly, it's compulsive at this point.
@@DorkTales sounds like my table
Lol I’m not done yet but your Fethereen is gold
I LOVE HER
@@DorkTales same 😅
Binging this starting now!
Welcome! Glad to have you!
Hmmm…
Monk that grew up in the temple of the Orphan…
I feel Way of Mercy coming up 🖤
I have been advised by my council, Kronor the Destroyer, to refrain comment.
1:32:20 I wish Isaac would've said, "If I nuzzle your neck, with my goatee... like this? Now do I seem real to you? Or should I keep going?"
Wait until the harengone bandits show up.
Fun session
Thanks Chris!
Btw is the soundtrack Hidden Path by Monument Studios ? Because I can't find it in their library
Actually, the one I used the most was Tabletop Audio's Arcane Clockwork. It's incredibly good for carnivals.
I hope you stick with us
@@DorkTales I got the pack but couldn't find the tracks haha
like hidden path and sanctum and the other one
Does the number at top right of each player indicate level? What about the D Luthienne and Isaac have?
You got it! That's their level. The D is something we use for our Twitch games called Determination. It's like Inspiration but instead of Advantage it grants your Proficiency bonus to any roll.
I am currently running this module. We have done 3 sessions. And only one person has died. Yay haha
What killed them?
@@DorkTales as of now 2 characters have died haha. The first in the hall of illusions by the thieves of the hourglass coven. (And he picked a witchlight hand background and knew not to fuck with them but go involved). The second by agdon and his men at the tollway. My guys are very quick to violence and this was not the right campaign for them hahaha. But they did drop a house on top of a witch, wizard of oz style so that was cool.
Yaaaaaaaars!
YASSSSSSS
Yuuuuuuuuuup!
YEEEEEEEE
I am running Chapter One tomorrow and I find this all so overwhelming! And I’m NOT a rookie DM! WTF?! Is there something the matter with me!?!
What is the name of the song at the beggining of the video?
Carousel by Monument Studios! All of our music credits are listed in every episode description
@@DorkTales thank you!
Duck people? We had one of those last time I ran Glorantha, a couple of years ago. I bet someone has done a D&D conversion of them. Durulz is the official name, maybe better for search results.
Huh! I'll give that a look. Thanks Tim!
Is there a link to the race that Niico is?
What playlist are you using Kelly? It's brilliant!
Soooo happy for this series!! I am prepping for this with the same adventure hook so this helps a lot!!!
Nice! Good luck with yours.
christine is so fkin funny and christa is so cute, i love yall this is so funny to listen to while drawing
aww, thank you
Thank you that's so sweet!!
Thanks Meg! I hope the drawing goes well! And your campaign too.
There’s a tiny little F-you in every “bless your heart”…
I think they say that moss only grows north, so that horse couldve been in front of stone

1:10:00 this bit is homebrewed right
The d4? Nope, that's in the module! There are a lot of boosts at the carnival.
@@DorkTales Completly missed this when I first went through the book. I am actually really glad to be able to watch your playthrough before I try to run it myself.
@@bluesnake4626 Hope your campaign is going well!
Whats with mister night is that supposed to be mister witch
Sure, probably.
38:34 I had to click that twice. Great pun.
The common cover is much cooler than the alt imho
You're not wrong, but I have to say that the alt is MUCH easier to find on my bookshelf amidst all the other dnd books.
alt cover wyy better! youre off your rocker lol
What, no Dungeons & Daddies references?
Christa eventually gets one in! I haven't personally listened to them, but I hear great things. They're on the list, trust me.
2:32:00
Oh man. That would mess with my chapters, but you are 100% right for asking.
The original recorded in 1888 is as follows:
Moses supposes his toeses are roses;
Moses supposes erroneously.
For nobody's toeses are roses or posies,
As Moses supposes his toeses to be.
The second recored in 1895 is as follows:
If Moses supposes his toeses are roses,
Then Moses supposes erroneously;
For nobody's toeses are posies or roses,
As Moses supposes his toeses to be.
And the third was recorded in 1944 and used in Singin in the Rain in 1952 is as follows:
Moses supposes his toeses are roses,
but Moses supposes erroneously.
For Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses,
as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
Yeah why don't they wear pants?😋
I mean, none of us were... the glory of Zoom calls.
I am looking forward to watching the rest of this, but the DM shouting at the beginning is a little off-putting. You can indicate that the character is speaking in a loud voice without actually shouting into your mic.
Fair enough! I'll try to tone it down a notch, or at least remember to balance the audio a bit more. Thanks for the note.
Sad take
So far no offense this is super boring. Costumes are good. But OMG I kinda wanna claw my eyes out.
Thanks! Glad you like the costumes! Hope you stick around for future episodes after your eyes heal!
too woke. pass, but good luck.
Skip the woke and just play the game geez
Whatever do you mean, pal?
@@DorkTales ignore him you guys are great the dm is amazing
