  • Some years back Classic Tractor Fever Host Brian Baxter met up with Robert Williams at a tractor show in Illinois. Robert brought his Big Bud 747 the "Worlds Largest Farm Tractor" all the way from Montana to show at the event. It took 3 and a half days to move it and 2 semi trucks. Not really it’s intended purpose to run any powered implements, it was built to rip and with modern tech and modern understanding of less intrusive seeding and planting methods the 747 big bud is pretty obsolete although due to the nature of how Big Buds are constructed they can be adapted and rebuilt to suit pretty much any needs so nothing is impossible

      Drew Hughes did any of you all see the latest Welker video with the Big Bud 740? The one they featured is Komatsu powered but they don’t own it and the owner wasn’t around at the time of filming so the details are pretty limited. They do share what they know however, in a nutshell it’s a Series IV, so the final, newest and “most modern/up to date” in the Bug Bud evolutionary scale and over course being a 740 it’s a VERY large tractor. They say in the video that another 740 exists as well, both were apparently manufactured for the same buyer and Big Bud the company was considering a production run of these large machines but obviously it never happened.
      They also feature a nice Series III 650/50. I’m hoping they end up with one of, if not all three of them eventually.
      I don’t think I have given away too many spoilers on the video. You all should give it a watch.

      I'm thinking either Penfield or Gifford. They referenced I&I tractor club; I think one of those is the site for their annual get-together.

    That tractor didn’t actually come from Montana its been on loan to the heartland museum in iowa sense 2014. www.heartlandmuseum.org/big-bud-tractor
    Before 2014 it was at the ag museum in independence ia i know that because im from there and grew up driving by it everyday

      All big buds came from Montana that is where they were built

    • @MoWhiskey22
      @MoWhiskey22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Sauskojus that wasn’t the context in what they were talking about in the video if you actually watch it. They were talking like its kept in Montana.

      Even though this video was recently posted on TH-cam, it was filmed many many years ago. At the time it was filmed (12-15 years ago, roughly) it probably DID just arrived from Montana.

    01:29 is that a rear facing video camera or an extra light on the fuselage behind the cab?

    • @zachscheid4697
      @zachscheid4697 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a video camera so the operator can see the hitch as they back up to the implement. In most center turn tractors this is a big issue because its so far back you can't see it. (I'm not sure about newer stuff my experience is mostly with older center turns)

    That is a big tractor but I don't know if it's a bigger than 777 dump truck I know the tires aren't as high Komatsu 777 truck has a two-stage starter V16 engine and was fun with three loads to tear it apart and Hall it it would halt a hundred ton

    • @matthewschofield9330
      @matthewschofield9330 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 777 is a caterpillar rigid dump truck , the komatsu rigid dump truck you are talking about is the hd785 .
