keith emerson, basically a classically trained self taught maestro, took the rock world by storm with electronic adaptations of some great classical works. along the way he opened a lot of peoples eyes to much more music that was out there, you just had to go out and find it. ELP was a band no one could imitate or duplicate. I will be eternally grateful. he will be missed.
Glenn Hughes the Voice of Rock is still killing it after all of these years. Today he still sounds like the same singer who fronted "Trapeze" back in the 1970's.

Love this excellent cover of a true classic! KE (RIP) always played with talented bands. Glen Hughes singing & Marc Bonilla on guitar, are superb on this great arrangement! I think this my favorite cover of this wonderful song. I wish they had done the seldom heard 3rd & 4th verses, they really help tell the full story in this legendary Procol Harum tune. I'm guessing back in the day of Top 40 dominated radio, with it's strict 2-3 min. song format, PH was forced by their record label to release a shorter "single" version. And those lovely extra verses were lost in the edit. If you're a fan of this song and haven't heard them, seek them out. There are few versions on YT that have all the verses. Cheers!

That wasn't meant to be bitchy, I just thought the original comment, and yours were pretty funny, and not insulting at all. Hate to say this, but I'm not too familiar with the guitarist (I'll have to update myself lol), but I've always loved KE, and ELP sent me into fits (good ones) when I was...younger...like, oh, maybe 53 or something like that. The Old Rocker part....I'm not really familiar with the guitarist either....I am a bassist, and ignore guitarists whenever possible, which isn't often.....
Old man is a drummer. Obviously being a bassist, you know you two are the rhythm section. My drummer claims to be tone deaf, seriously, but he really is kinda deaf from playing. He doesn't have much to do with guitarists. Not trying to say bad about guitarists, I played rhythm for years, but sometimes....well, you probably know. But don't worry, when you're 60, you'll still be rocking.
Who would attempt to match Gary Brooker. Only a great like Keith. It is sad that so many greats of the greatest era in music are now lost, but the music does live on
