They've done it before with skins in the PC/console version. They leaked plans for a flatline skin that had some larger optics which they were guessing people would buy because it's better than the normal Flatline iron sights, but then the skin got leaked and it showed how they were going to create the skin and then make it normal flatline iron sights.

EA sunsets it globally yes, but there exists apex mobile 2.0 and lightspeed studios aka tencent is developing it. They basically copied all the mechanics and everything (except guns and characters and lore of course) from apex mobile but they're developing game similar to apex on their own. One problem tho - it will only be available for China
