Fun random fact: the hop actually slows your forward lateral momentum, but at the same time speeds your rotation by establishing a plant. Think of how hard-tapping the brakes on a car causes the car to pitch forward. For an interesting comparison, watch vaulters and floor performers. A strong run-up is still absolutely crucial either way.
Oh much easier. Because without the roundoff you don't have the momentum. But the backflip standing requires a lot more push from your legs, arms, feet, and basically your entire body. But with practice every trick gets easier trust me 👍

I agree, at the time I only had a GoPro to film on, but I'm upgrading my camera in a few weeks and will be pumping out better quality vids

I learned a backflip 8 months ago and I've done a standing full, but I still haven't tried a round off backflip, hopefully I'll get it soon.
I can do it now but I definitely need to work on my round off
and who knows maybe in 2 years I land double back
