Hey Brother. I'm sorry for leaving a comment on your videos that I've been watching on the TV in my living room, but I'm recovering from my 1st knee replacement surgery. I hijacked my oldest sons laptop to leave a comment on this latest video of yours. I have to say I was moved to tears several times after listening to the testimony of the blind woodworker who was seeking help, or ideas for improving work flow through his shop.!?! I certainly most admit, after that man's inspiring story, I truly find myself without excuse. Thank You Sir, for sharing such a story, and continuously encouraging your viewership to press-on. Do tell the Mrs. Happy Mother's Day.

I hear you sir. I fell and broke my arm up near the shoulder a while back and its still not working right. Having to put ice packs on it a lot and stretch it to keep it from locking up. So I'm not doing any wood working but, I sure do enjoy Matthew's videos. Hope and prayer you get well soon.

Probably start at that price then drop gradually over time until a trend of buyers begin. We don’t see how many buy, how much for, or how frequently. Most women love that stuff and if they got the money they buy it.

    Great video Series! Loving it!
With those 1/4" scraps, you could probably make little "Painting Easels" to hold pictures or phones/tablets. Like an A-frame, with a hinge-like strut as a stand from the back. the horizontal part of the "A" is where the phone sits. Maybe its been done before, but it would be a use for the scraps...

Nice thing about those small scraps you have there. You could take a few and make a bottom then use several more to make 4 sides to make pencil and pen holders. I have done this several times with and scraps under a 1/2". 3 years ago I made 20 of then in a weekend and gave then out for Christmas. And because of that I had one family member tell me that they had a friend want 4 of them and they were happy to find out I only charged 20$ for them. So never get rid of scraps. Think outside the normal and look for and find things to make out of your scraps

On the quarter inch material how about use it to make a center design in some geometric art. set up your pieces in different patterns, color them differently, glue then square them up with one flat side and use it as a center inset or medallion on top of the wall art. The different heights makes it 3D art. Like do a geometric thing, then do a cross or diamond on top.

For the hanging planter box, screws and glue should be used on every corner joint. Each corner joint supports the weight of all of the wood below their level plus the potted plant divided by 4. If the plant pot is sitting on 4 bottom slats, then each slat joint supports just the weight of the potted plant divided by 8. The corner joints have at least as much stress as the bottom slat joints, and probably more.

    Hi Matthew 👋!
I have a suggestion for your bundle of scrap wood.
You could make a planter pot cover.
▪︎Find a planter pot (ex. Urn insert pot)
▪︎Cut pieces to the height of the pot or just above. (Cut enough to go around the outside of the pot)
▪︎Drill holes at the top and bottom through the sides of your sticks large enough to fit a piece of string or elastic cord through.
▪︎Tie them around your pot. Paint/stain if desired.
I hope to see you try this!

🤔 💭 Have you ever tried/used wooden nails? You use them with a pneumatic tool.

I'm looking at building out a 40' school bus, a Skoolie, or modifying/remodeling a 40' Motorhome as my full time rolling home in the next year. That cleat wall built to fit the few actual walls I'll have will be great to help add more much needed storage. Add a 1/4" plywood bottom & make the rectangles upright to use for holding kitchen utensils. Or make the longer rectangles for holding miscellaneous items in the bathroom or bedroom space. I can see so many uses for the little crate boxes alone. Great idea for sure.

I like to watch all of your videos like this. I'm not wanting to sell items, I have my day job that takes most of my time. I look at your suggestions as things I might be able to make for my wife, or even as gifts for other family members. There might be a lot of people like me who aren't trying to start a business but want ideas for easily making gifts.
I've seen that Pentel pencil hanging from your hat in numerous videos- that is my favorite pencil for general use. I started using 0.5mm mechanical pencils long ago but the lead is somewhat fragile. I started using 0.7mm pencils because the lead doesn't break as easily, then I discovered the 0.9mm models so now that's what I prefer to use and I have at least 3 of them around my desk.

You should mention that you cut the holes first cause if the handle was cut, it would be more sketchy to cut
the hole. Pretty sure that's why you did that anyways. I wanted to mention it for folks

Those small cutoffs would work really well to make pallet-style coasters. I made several sets of small coasters like that and they were pretty popular.
Always enjoy the videos, keep up the great work!

Love the small's content. I made that nesting board out of cherry a year and a half ago for my father in law. After dropping them off the next week I was at a customers house measuring some doors. He had a lot of wooden accents in his home that I stopped to check out. I mentioned the boards and he wanted to see a picture. He looks at the picture on my phone and asks how much I was getting for them. Told him $160. He was quite... then says "I'll take 4". COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!!

I am learning so much from your channel! One question though - what brand of camera do you have clipped to your head?
