At 2:50,,the B&O loco was on a long term lease to ATSF. Even requiring a re-numbering. So, part of the deal was that ATSF was to re-number them back to their Chessie number, when returned. However, ATSF used the ATSF serif style which would immediately signal to a fan that such a loco just returned from ATSF use. This was 1979. I saw several of these way back when.
1:49 all of this scene is now a memory both the tower and the diamonds are gone in the late 2010s the diamond crossing was removed and replaced with a flyover bridge which takes the sunset route tracks over the former Santa Fe mainline

When you see this it makes you wonder about this shit show society we are now in.
Them were the "Good Ole Days" for sure!
A wonderful postcard of Cajon Summit!! 🛤️
Agreed, thanks for looking and supporting our channel!
Thanks. I loved seeing the Santa Fe caboose. Great memories from my childhood
We love Santa Fe Cabooses as well. Reminds us of a wonderful time in US Railroad History!
Thanks again ! 😁👍
Your welcome thanks for watching and commenting!
Colton crossing is no more. Rebuilt some years ago to a flyover.
It used to be a great place to watch trains, now the flyover has changed everything!
Good Old Days !
Yes they were what a colorful time!
And Look How Old The Tracks Are 😊
Why double caboose sometimes?
They needed some on the other end, so they are 'deadheaded.' Same goes for locos.
Yet another prime example that everything worthwhile is in the past, present is almost totally worthless. Thanks for taking us back temporarily..
As a railroader of 25 years plus, you took the words out of my mouth
What you have labeled as Keenbrook at around 0300 is really just West of Devore. Otherwise, great look back!
Good 👍 0l Caboose ❤ It 😊
