GREAT PICK. AWESOME LAKERS!
Sounds crazy - but potentially rookie of the year. Seriously.
Lakers desperately need shooters and Knecht fills the roll as a plug and play immediately. Great pick.
D.Knecht comp is A) Mike Miller, B) Wally Sczerbiak, or C) Tyler Herro? All good outcomes for Lakers.
NBA Gm's have gone a little loopy. They are constantly taking big swings and misses when good players are available.
23 vs 22 year olds... come on man! It's not like he's in his 30s.
It’s vs 18/19/20 yr olds vs 23/24. I like the pick a lot but that’s a big difference
It just proves that most professional scouts are borderline incompetent. Just see where Tom Brandy was drafted. I watched many Michigan games where he lead comebacks before he became the GOAT.
Go Lakers! Can't believe we got him at 17!
I like the pick lot for Lakers, but he wasn’t consensus top10 from non nba front expected draft experts. He was usually 6-10 for sure, but I def saw some big boards that had him 11-12 range.
JJ was 12.8 not 12.3 ppg for career and that’s bc he didn’t play much early.
His 10 yr prime from 2010-11 to 19-20 he averaged 15 PPG on 45/42/90 splits.
He reminds me more of Wally Szczerbiak and Thunder Dan Majerle.
The Man Went 17th because the 16 teams that passed on didn’t need him. I like that the Lakers acquired a shooter
The team that picked fifth could have used him.
So I was confused about a lot of teams that passed up on him, starting with Detroit, then Charlotte, then Grizzlies, Thunder, Kings, and Sixers. Those teams all chose young player based off potential or they chose fit especially teams like Memphis and Miami.
One of the smartest picks the Lakers' front office has ever made!!! THIS KID CAN BALL AND SHOOT!!! I'm very excited and look forward to seeing him in a Lakers uniform!! Dalton was underrated during his entire basketball career until his senior year at Tennessee and was undervalued in this draft! Good for him!!!
Thank You to the big Man and Jerry West 😇
Dalton is 23. Most of the younger guys drafted above him will won't play for years if ever.
Knecht doesn’t fit the timeline of a few a of these teams and doesn’t fill a role that some of the tops teams that could have drafted need.Grizzlies were smart and picked Edey, Okc doesn’t need another guard/Sf, heat needed a big. Philly picking McCain over Knecht is an interesting choice but not completely egregious
He gets #4 I’m getting the jersey
The guy supposedly is slow laterally. Just like reaves and dlo. So now they have 3 guys who cant😂
That’s what vando and reddish are for
That's what they said about Kuzma, he got better. This guy is athletic, meaning he can get better.
He actually isn’t slow laterally he had some of the best NBA combine numbers in the short shuttle and has a 39 inch vertical jump, he’s a way better athlete than DLo and Reaves 😂
@travesotom6890 Are you an nba scout? That's what his profile says 🤣
This is exactly why the NBA has been in decline since the early 2000's. Drafting on "potential" makes absolutely no since to me. The NBA has gone from drafting MEN to drafting BOYS.
Spot on!!!
Well said. Imagine Dalton dropped because of his age. You want a dude that is NBA ready, and Dalton is it. Lakers steal of a deal
Yes! On Lakers' next pick, I hope they get another NBA ready player.
Giannis was a draft on potential
The nba has been on the rise since the early 2000s
He’ll make it up in endorsements if he’s good enough
Dalton = Luka Just watch!
nah bruh 🤣
More of Tyler Herro upside

@@ericwilliams626 Oh my bad man. Not a chance Eric Williams.
Lakers gonna trade him lol
Oh yeah you know someone in the front office?
I doubt it he’s a keeper
Nope 😂
👑LAKERNATION SHOULD HAVE TAKEN TERRENCE SHANNON JR ..
Not a good enough shooter right now. He’s one of the most athletic ballers in the draft for sure and can drive with the best of them but Lakers need shooters. Dalton will help immediately this year!
Completely wrong player for the lakers, they desperately need defense and a big.
Lakers can get Valanciunas and JaVale McGee from the free agency. I hope they also get Kelly Oubre, a very good player with high basketball IQ.
A rookie big is gonna get eaten by the elite bigs in the league. I’d rather trade for one as well.
@@blenquing4951those dudes past their prime
I disagree. Yes we need a Center but we also needed a Wing with his skillset. If he improves on defense it makes this pick even better. Players with off ball scoring ability that can also dribble drive are a premium in this league. I'm glad we got a top 7 graded player at 17 you can't ask for more. Just gotta hope he's not a bust like with any player.
@@supermanblackedition not so easy to trade for a good big either. Unlikely to happen. Dallas did alright with a rookie defender.
