Your last two serve videos have been absolutely spot on, with observations I haven’t seen highlighted by any other coach. After years and years of trying to perfect the serve timing I’ve finally seen tangible results away from a “jump-hit” problem. My problem was exactly as you described when wrongly getting the weight forward and down when loading and it effected the whole motion. Thanks Tom.
Thank you for the great lesson again Coach TPA tennis. Please make another follow up video to show what happens after getting off the ground and landing :) Thanks, Dan
Thanks for the support. Check out The Serve Coordination Video Guide: tpatennis.teachable.com/p/serve-coordination-chain . I'll be adding more videos to it this week.
Sinner has made adjustments to his stance and preparation technique recently , including a radical change, he has now transitioned to a pinpoint stance. I think is much better now, dont you?
So is the weight more even - then toss. Then shift to the back then front? That seem accurate? Toss always messes me up. You make it look pretty easy but its not for me. :P
Thanks, Tom. Can I nit pick a little? Load on back foot and throw makes perfect sense but when the toss is introduced that back leg loading seems to be lost. That's what I see after watching your serves many times. It's almost like if you tossed first and then load and throw the racket it will be the perfect throw. Not sure if I make sense!😀
You load the back leg and then toss off the back leg as your weight comes forward to the front. Some people like Taylor Fritz toss on the back leg, then load the back leg in the trophy phase. What Tom is explaining here is the best way to learn though.
@@pd1323 Following Tom’s good ball throw analogy and the main element being the loading of back leg at the beginning of the throw doesn’t the way Taylor Fritz does it make perfect sense?
@pd1323 the serve is nothing like a shotput. I have to make a video on this. I keep seeing the FYB content on this. It’s the worst advice I’ve ever heard, and I’m not exaggerating
Seems like when he's demonstrating without going into the serve he is or he might but when he starts actually going through the strokes, he's adjusting.

Thx Tom, this seem super practical especially fot balance. Question, when does the toss motion commence? Looks like after you have loaded back foot?
Personally, it's more concurrent. Peak of toss when the body is loaded up or loaded onto the back foot.
Very well explained!
Love it, thank you!!
Also watch how the Bryan brothers serve, a perfect example of weigh transfer and up and out movement.
Interesting. I was thinking of Jordan Thompson when I saw this video as a great example of the swoosh serve...

@@eduardomt3823 yes. I like the pinpoint, just not until you can serve platform

@@watcher687 Its more of a shotput style. Hard to time but massive power.

@@watcher687 I don’t understand what you’re seeing. I throw and load the back leg at the same time. That’s what I see and feel.
Foot fault?
