"Which rFactor 2 DLC Should I Buy?" - Best Cars and Tracks

rFactor 2 has some of the best made content in sim racing, but since most of it comes as paid DLC, there are a number of people who've asked me my opinion on which is the best rFactor 2 DLC to buy.
In this video I'm going to break down my choices for the the best paid rFactor 2 official content from Studio 397. I'll divide my choices into 3 categories: best car packs, best cars, and best tracks.

rFactor2 really needs to package their DLCs better. You should be able to buy all GT3 cars in 1 DLC, same for GTE... That's fairly annoying, but to be honest all of their offical content is really good. Even the formula E stuff
JT I completely agree. It’s something I’ve brought up before. They need an “Ultimate Edition” or equivalent. The cost soars when you buy all of this individually
Well, you got what you asked for. They bundled everything up for the sale. All GT3 cars in a bundle. All other endurance cars in a bundle. 4 big tracks in a bundle. It's probably perfect if you're new to rF2. If you're like me and just need a few items, basically nothing is on sale.

I love you cheapskates they want everything for free and figure all the people pouring tons of hours into this should be paid nothing. Go out race real car and see what that cost you and then look at the enjoyment and entertainment that you can get from SIM racing And stop being so cheap. What you can afford a cuppa coffee
Reiza Pack, Nurburgring, Sebring, Two Strong Pack before all else.
It really does come down to preference. If you want to play online, the two GT3 packs, Sebring, Le Mans, and Nurburgring are going to be the best choice. I also love the Reiza pack though. And during sales, the whole pack is like $15 (6 cars and 4 tracks), which is probably the best deal of any rF2 DLC.
For me, it's Endurance, GT3, Challengers, Two Strong, Reiza, Sebring, Le Mans, and Nurburgring. I know it's a lot, but you can build it up over multiple sales as I have (hoping Nurburgring is on sale this time as I still don't have it). I love Formula E IRL, but I don't enjoy racing them as much in the sim.

Surprised you didn’t recommend Imola considering you drove the Senna around it. Great recommendations!
The Mclarren senna is kinda build on the Le Mans Hypercar regulations. So this car can be used as topclass in endurance racing. Together with the lmp2 and the gte field.

@CleanPipes not to worry, i thought it was clear that i meant the gtr in the first place, since the only senna in rfactor is the gtr. Maybe i should write out the whole name of the car i mean aswell, as to not cause any missunderstandings.
All of the official Studio 397 content I've bought so far has been fantastic. With the nudge in the direction of Endurance racing clearly forming, I would love to see an official, laser-scanned version of Daytona released by Studio 397, not to mention whatever LMP1 cars they can secure licensing deals for.
Of course, the emphasis should be to address the online... This alone could (hopefully) draw interest back to this otherwise compelling sim driving experience... The UI I can live with for now, even though I recognize like everyone else that it deserves an overhaul.
Honorable mention should go to Reiza's Imola and VIR, two great tracks made really well (and used in many leagues).

i owne all content from s397 even i don't use all just because i support the studio for theyr work and the fantastic Sim
Don1 #996 yeah, people have varying opinions on rF2, but for me it’s awesome
well, rfactor is currently in a bit of trouble because other sims are getting all the attention... once the new UI kicks in with easier server hosting, this will quickly change.
i got tired about buying to support but i respect ya, may be s397 should respect more their words..
And yeah i love new cars tracks content but come on fix the main issues some year! because ams2 and acc are coming strong!

The Steam sale is right around the corner. My best guess for what will DEFINITELY be on sale: Endurance/GT3/Challenger packs, Reiza pack, 1 or more Formula E packs (most likely including Monaco and Hong Kong), KartSim pack, Sebring, and Le Mans. What MIGHT be on sale: Two Strong pack, Nurburgring, Circuit d'Azur. What will PROBABLY NOT be on sale: the new Radical, 488 GTE, New York/Berlin e-prix. If I remember right, individual cars that are not part of a pack don't usually go on sale. I could be wrong about that though. I may have missed something, but this is a good bet IMO.
I also liked the video and the idea but in the end i couldn't get much out of it since there was no onboard footage. Often i don't want to drive cars when the engine or transmission noise is horrible or the view out of the car is too limited because of a strange a pillar or massive bonnet. I still gave it a thumbs up! cheers mate

Great overview and agree on your choices! However, I would advise to wait until the new announced Le Mans pack will be released, because I think it willl bundle the Le Mans track with all the GTE cars in one pack.

Nah just wait for a sale and buy them seperate. New bundles take ages to get a decent sale.
Bambeakz , yes, you can always wait for a sale, but when they are planning to release a Le Mans pack, I don’t expect the Le Mans track and GTE’s will be on sale anytime soon. On the other cars and tracks, yes, wait until they are on sale.
I so hope there is a complete the collection Feature, seeing as I already have Le Mans and the Endurance Pack already, and I'm not exactly swimming in money.
Hello, have you tried RSS mods on Rfactor 2? They released new Ferrari 488. Dpi is very good besides they will release f1 soon. I can't wait.

@@SimRacing604 i am one of f1 tester. So this is their first experience of doing f1 on rfactor 2. We did hard work on this. It really looks amazing and i hope it will drive well.

Can you expand on why you think GT3s are better in rFactor2 than ACC ? Have you made a video talking about that ?
After playing ACC and getting used to it. I do prefer ACC for the most part. Rfactor2 you have a better feel for the tire and kerbs. Rain and the overall racing is much better in ACC imo.
I've been on the fence about Sebring and the Endurance pack. Looks like I'm grabbing both today.

Seriously though, I'm with you. The Ferrari 488 GTE, Porsche Cup & BMW M2 CS racing are 3 of the best cars in sim racing, period. The GT packs are good, but they've had a few weird BoP issues over the years, and some cars suffer from easy 'hacks' that can get you extra time (driving with minimum rear wing and detached rear ARB etc.)

I'll be honest, I really haven't had much interest in RF2, but this video definitely has me interested. I mostly stick to ACC, but I always hear nothing but good things about the driving feel in RF2.
M2 CS + Nordschleife = My fav. Sim Experience of all time.

Really wish rf2 had ovals and nascar and street stock like iracing. I would surely invest in rf2.
It’s had that for years, but the oval AI isn’t very good though sadly.
McLaren Senna is the new hypercar class for Le Mans. You will get a class, knowing studio 397 probably car by car. When they started with only selling car by car and track by track, instead of selling a competition package or something, I stopped buying.
Ive noticed they will have holiday or summer sales and they will put better bundles together and give you a deal.
Frankly you should be buying them all as you were supporting what is probably in my opinion the best SIM physics out there and all the DLC content is above par.You’re not gonna get the ACC I candy per se but the immersiveness Yes far beyond. The moding Community when found absolutely stellar especially ASR

What graphic configuration do you have in rf2?
I was playing rfactor today for my 3rd time since buying it few days ago, I was driving the M4 Class 1 DTM, and whenever im braking hard and downshifting, there's a point like @5:08 where the revs drop so low its like the car died momentarily before picking back up and becoming so unstable it wants to spin or sometimes that happens and then the rear comes out so violently and basically spin under deceleration, any clue why this happens?
if you ever spent money on a car in iracing, every car in rfactor 2 is worth buying... trust me, they are all awesome to drive!
This game is by and far the greatest sim as far as realism, I love it. BUT why are there certain cars that completely drive incorrectly. The AMG GT3 for example. I have tried every FFB setting and physcial set up and no matter what, whenever I turn the wheel at speed the front tires break lose and you get this really weird feeling almost like FFB is reversed. But this only occurs on certain cars. I tried going to json file and changing positive to negative for FFB effects but all that did was ruin the FFB on all of the cars. I have also tried playing with degrees of rotation but didnt seem to help. Somehow for certain cars, I am getting some type of assisted steering assist even though I have it turned off or reversed FFB for particular cars. I have googled and searched the forums but have not found anything that works. Curious if the youtube world has seen this and found a solution. Thanks!

Is there a package which includes both cars+tracks bundle? How does cars to track mapping are? Any car can be driven on any track? Or Endurance cars like LMP2, LMP3 can be driven only on endurance tracks

Reiza pack includes 10 cars and tracks (10 total, i think it was like 6 cars and 4 tracks), now on sale so you can buy it for 10€
Formula e packs also include both cars and tracks, unsure about the endurance pack tho
Gt3 pack does NOT include any track
RF2 is not perfect, and I have a wishlist that would make it nearly perfect, but which Sim is perfect?...
The content you showed, especially the latest, has the best drivingfeel around period.
Driving the F488 GTE on one of the 3 laserscanned masterpieces is a absolute joy!!!

Stephen Putnick oh wow, I see what you mean! That’s annoying. Why would they do it like that? I’d rather they put everything at 25% off rather than a few things at 50% off, a few things at 25% off etc.
