Many years ago, my cousin bought a RR Phantom V in London where he had a residence. He then moved to New York City where I saw the car. It had a British license plate on it and he was able to drive it around town for several years without any problems. Let's hope that Shmee has the same good fortune.

Great to see your dream trip coming true! First thing to do: Remove OPF as it is not required in the USA. While I know you will be meeting many of your fans in the big cities, hopefully you will be able to get West of the Mississippi as soon as possible and go drive the wide open highways of the far West. Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Idaho, Western Colorado (crossing the Rockies is a must!), West Texas, Montana is where the open roads are. If you have time, the bucket list drive is down US101 from the Olympic peninsula to where it meets California 1 with the Pacific on your right as the constant companion (a few turns are inland). You may not realize it yet, but you will wish you had a good IR blocking tint on your windows. A lot of sunscreen lotion if you do not and a good pair of polarizing sunglasses. US gasoline (petrol is an unknown word over here) is blended in at least 11 different blends ( www.gao.gov/products/GAO-05-421 ) in the US. The worst octane blends are the ACN (AZ,CA,NV) ones. Check your tunes if you have any on your GT to prevent any damage. You will most likely want a radar detector (except in VA where they are illegal, but speeding is regarded as a 1st degree felony also) which the Uniden R7 seems to be the performance pick for now. You can also enroll in AAA for another road incident failure or even hotel guide discount for whatever length of time you need it at whatever level (flat bed mileage limits). I think you are coming to Austin, so after your day at CotA, the highest speed limit highway (85 mph) in America is just W of it and Southbound you are in Lockhart, the Texas barbecue capital of the world. Do not miss it if you have time. If you do, I will be glad to be your guide to all four joints. One last consideration in the western highways is a small insulated container so you can have chilled non-alcoholic beverages at hand, especially if you avoid soft drink sodas with ingredients from Monsanto. Be careful as pickups and monster SUV will not see you, enjoy the open highways and magnificent vistas of the West and be a hawk on your speedometer and get a good detector (but stow it in VA.)

Make sure they don't disconnect the battery before it's loaded.
If they do, you will need service at a Ford SVO dealer to re-set all the electronics.
