I had a coworker who was/is a follower of la Santa Muerte, he would see her in his dreams and talk to her (even with a ouija board. He once gave me this small bone carving of her for protection when I was going through some troubling times. I still have it, i keep it safe. Ever so often i will pick it up and ask her to care and keep safe my old coworker whom i haven't seen/talked to in years.
I’m a Tibetan Buddhist, raised semi-Catholic. My teacher has taught in Mexico and has had amazing encounters with Santa Muerte and I’ve started meeting with her too in my own way. She seems comfortable with the Vajrayana deities and my own Taino ancestral gods and loves the feasts I throw in practice.
That's wonderful! I always hear people falsely accusing her of being jealous or possessive and how much she dislikes her followers working with other deities, but that's clearly not true. You and me are good examples of that 🙂

She isn’t just death but she is life and she is the one who preserves the life. 6 and 8 are her numbers so perhaps the 6 months are sacred to her in some way? I am thankful for her help and try to give gifts as often as I can. I conflate her with other goddesses because ultimately I believe God is feminine and she is one face of our great womb which we were born from.

shes been in my dreams a few times and she appeared in my dream last night…she appeared on the front of a black pick up truck like attached to the license plate and i even remember taking a picture of her because i was like woah its santisima! i feel like shes been poking at me. when i enter my local favorite botanica i always feel her energy and shes so warm and welcoming. i feel this almost burning urge to honor her and show her thanks and gratitude…como que me deja desesperado almost…
I think that might be a sign that she wants to work with you 😁 Light a candle for her, give her some simple offerings, and sit with her in meditation. Notice what thoughts naturally come up during that time. Those thoughts are usually messages from her.

Thank you! You don't need to be good at magic to have a nourishing relationship with her. I'd be curious to know why you feel that you need to be good at it. Being good at magic/ritual work is a process. It's like a muscle that gets stronger as you practice it more and more. Enjoy the process and in time you'll get better!
Do you know if Santa Murte is okay with infrequent/casual worship? I love hearing stories about her and learning about her, and I feel drawn to her because I feel I would be accepted since I'm also "Not quite Mexican but not quite American either". But I already have other deities I'm committed to, and I often hear people say you have to really devote yourself to her. I don't want to disrespect her with infrequent offerings and communication, but I also wish to pay my respects to her for all she does for her people
Hi there! I don't think there would be any issues with an occasional offering or veneration rite to her. I think the issue comes when you ask her for things right from the start when you don't really know her.

I'm from Scotland i have never felt close in churches i felt drawn to santa muerte over a year ago i offered candles and prayer for months nothing happened so i gave up but I feel drawn to her again I'm beginning to think I'm not spiritual enough
@@alexblue6991 Hey there, I'm curious what you mean by "I offered candles and prayer for months and nothing happened." Were you asking for something? I feel like more context is needed here. Sometimes we do get signs or messages from her but they're subtle in the beginning and it's just a matter of tuning in. Sometimes we might get a random thought while praying to her and we don't realize that thought isn't ours, but a message from her. Messages usually aren't loud and boisterous.

I recommend having a pen and notepad with you when you meditate with her image or pray to her and write down any automatic or random thoughts that come through. Certain deities know what we can and can't handle and they don't deliver loud and showy signs to certain people because they know it might mess them up or their psyche won't be able to metabolize it.

Alcoholic beverages I leave for a week, and coffee/tea usually just a day and down the kitchen sink drain. I haven't had a job for a long time and 07.09 (July this year,9 is associated with the symbolism of death and 7 looks like a scythe) there was an offer... at the cemetery as caretaker and cellar builder I don't know if it's a good choice, I have to think about it and I don't have much time, a quick decision I'm stressed, okay, I'm going for a walk to new places somewhere I've never been in my life so I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I 'm admiring new landscapes :) and here is an old mill falling apart, black boards, etc I get closer and what do I see? large notices posted on the almost entire wall, "Gabriel Funeral House" XD okay, it's cool, accidents happen, we breathe, we don't get panic :D I drove onto a dirt path, on a hill, high ground huge grain fields and I'm walking with my bike, suddenly a quest comes into my path and gets in my way :> Who? praying mantis :D and a moment ago there was an advertisement for a funeral house, you know, at funerals people pray for the dead like... praying mantises ok, I'll move on XD I found some blueish flints (blueish bruis as a corpse )and took them home :> in return, of course, I burned incense because I took it with me, I don't know why, instinctively I walked around, smoked incense and returned home along the same path suddenly something ran far away, something brown, maybe a young deer, a fox, I don't know I stopped for a moment and continued walking, but here I was on the path where the praying mantis had just been, and nothing else on the same path now I see that there is a feather... of a hawk or a falcon, a long-eared owl or a pheasant and on the road, when I was almost home, a black cat came out of the bushes under the cross didn't see me,when I stopped, he looked at me and ran back to the cross A few weeks earlier I was reading a book about La Santa Muerte and wondered if this was the right deity for me I thought probably not, due to Her possessiveness and jealousy ,so I put the book aside a few hours later, postman visited us with unexpected parcel from relatives from USA and in it I found chocolates in decorative wrappers with pictures of... What does your gut feeling tell you? If you have an inner felt sense that you're getting signs, trust it and don't question yourself so much. Also, If you feel called to connect with her, why not offer her a candle and some copal and see how you feel? There's no harm in approaching her with some simple offerings and meditating with her image. It's not like you're signing a lifelong contract or anything. 😁 Also please be careful about making assumptions about her. Claiming that she's possessive or jealous is pretty disrespectful. If you decide to work with her, approach her with a clean slate and zero expectations. The way she is with you might be completely different from how she is with me or another devotee.

I've worked with people who don't venerate her correctly and as a result, she doesn't protect them or answer their prayers. I mentioned in the video that I don't think it's smart to just reach out to her asking her for things right from the start without putting any effort into establishing a relationship, but unfortunately plenty of people do that. I've even heard of people asking for things and not giving anything back in return. I can't say for sure why these people aren't protected by by her, but more than likely they must be doing something wrong. Also I wouldn't say Mexico is full of criminals. There's a complicated situation going on in a few cities in Mexico, but the majority of people there live very mundane lives.
