OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 12R in China, set to launch worldwide on January 23rd. The phone features a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE X1 8T LTPO OLED curved ProXDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and 1600nits brightness. It is powered by a 5500mAh battery, a 100w wired charger, and a 50MP Sony IMX890 OIS+ 8MP IMX355 ultrawide+ 2MP rear camera. The phone comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IR blaster for remote control.

Referring to the 12R as a mid-range device is somewhat debatable. It does offer several features that can be considered mid-range. However, the CPU is the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 which is definitely a flagship processor.
Playing devil's advocate, it may be wise to consider purchasing last year's 11 instead of this. It utilizes the same processor but, all the other specifications are at flagship level. Furthermore, with the release of the 12 on February 23rd the cost of the 11 should drop considerably.
@@thinkbio3794 Indeed, it makes sense so long as the individual making the purchase doesn't mind losing a year of updates. Personally, updates are a big deal to me but, they are not for many others.
This makes sense. even if the 12r has a flagship processor, it does not perform on the same level as flagship 11. There will be some limitations on the soc regarding performance like 11r where the 8 plus gen 1 configuration is same as 8 gen 1 and it is disappointing( Except for the fact that this time it is done by TSMC not samsung)

If you don't prioritize software updates, the OnePlus 11 is a good option. It's been around for a year, so it may not have the latest updates. If you're not concerned about staying up to date, the 11 offers similar specs to the 12R. The 12R has some extra features, but the 11 is still a sensible choice. but at the end it your choice and I apologize for the late reply
