    A cool trick for edits is to export silent loops that are one bar, or half or quarter bars. Then you can load those into your editor and line them up to your audio track. Duplicate the silent clips and use them as an edit point marker that is synced to your track. Basically giving yourself snappable points for quick video cuts on beat. Really useful for videos with lots of fast cuts

    • @mateoconk
      @mateoconk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep rereading this and it’s over my head. The end result sounds great, but I’m sadly missing the process you describe.

    • @jasonchambers6787
      @jasonchambers6787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mateoconk Im terribad at explaining things... but if you export wav files from your song that are set to specific lengths, you can load those files into your video editor on their own audio track and use them as marker points for edits that are tempo accurate. Most video editing programs will have a "snap to" function for the start and end of files. So you could use those files, duplicated on your video timeline and have fast and accurate slice points that are every bar or whatever division of a bar that you want and they are automatically synced because they are the same tempo as your song. So you don't have to scrub through your song track and find those points in your song the hard way. The wav files just become silent time markers for your song... hopefully this makes more sense. Though if you are into more freeform, off the grid editing, this would be useless. Its mainly to make life easier when you need video edits to be in sync or on beat.

    • @mateoconk
      @mateoconk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonchambers6787 Ok. It’s a little more clear now that I know you’re talking about putting the silence in the wav files, using multiple of them… so if I use a measure of silence before the wav file every time, my start point to sync to the sound in the video is obvious. Then I’m not trying to sync TWO points and listening for both. And since the video I’m syncing should just be background noise before the content I’m not cropping, I just throw on all the wav files, line up the intentional silences and erase the silences?
      Doing this, if I give the video enough “background noise” lead up- like a two measure count-in if I need it- it’ll be super obvious and routine where to put the cuts- they’ll actually line up clip-by-clip. It means a lot more bouncing in the DAW, but could save more time searching on the other side for sync points?
      Did I get it?
      Wait… can’t we then add the full wav file after and have it line up so we’re not using the video editing software’s crossfader?

    • @jasonchambers6787
      @jasonchambers6787 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mateoconk I think you are getting it. Say your track is 4/4, imagine slicing up your song every bar. If you loaded up all those slices in sequence in your video editor, you would see start and end points on every 1 bar clip. Well, it would be silly to slice up your song and rebuild it. So just bounce down a single file that is 1 bar long and load that into your video editor. Line it up with your song and just duplicate it down the timeline. You can delete it's track when you are done. The only significance is to indicate 1 bar. Hmm wish I was working on something, id just make an explainer video. But anyway, I think you are getting the idea.

    This was perfect, the whole thing was "Oh, of course thats how he did that!" Sometimes you just know how to do everything already, you just don't think to do it that way haha. I would never have considered doing the pans and zooms in editing for instance, but its so damn obvious. Well played man. This has given me a bit more confidence to do it myself in a couple of months time (which is when I'll have time).

    Great video. What is the trick to getting your camera phone to looking most cinematic? 24 fps? Or 4K anytime like that?

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cinematic look = 24 fps, and 1/50 shutter speed.
      On phones to have this level of camera control you'll need a special app.
      Framing and lighting go a long way as well. when you lock in a 24fps and 1/50 ss, it has implications for the image that may sometimes require an ND filter.
